Help with Body Type-Pics included

Hello All! My name is Devin. I am a Makeup Artist from Houston, Texas. I have introduced myself on the forum and love Angie's blog. I have been reading daily and am absolutely addicted! I turned 30 last year and have recently lost 30 pounds. Since then I have really wanted to amp up my look and wardrobe. My style is a mix of modern and trendy. I would like to know what you all think my body type is. I am 5'2" and my measurements are 32-26.5-35(I think?). I believe I am a pear shape, but am unsure. Here are a couple of pics:

Congratulations on the weight loss!!! You look fantastic! From the measurements I would say pretty pear for sure but in the pictures you look more like a rectangle (can't see as much waist definition as your measurements indicate) - could be the picture though. Hope you're going to give us lots of makeup advice!!!

My guess is that you are a rectangle with pear tendencies. I am very much not an expert though, so please wait to see what other people say!

Devin, from the front you look like a rectangle to me, but from the side definitely a pear. That dress looks beautiful on you!

Thanks ladies! I would never have guessed a rectangle. My body has really changed since the weight loss.

Angie I am not sure I understand. Does that mean I should follow both rectangle rules for the top half and pear rules for my bottom half, since my bottom half is fuller? Can I wear pencil skirts and skinny jeans?

I have read the racy rectangle rules, but am unsure what makes me look completely flattering. Thanks!

Yes, I agree ... rectangle with a bit of pear. That's what I am too and I am *glad* for my pearish curves, since they're the only curves I have!

Devin, from the front, you are rectangular, but from the side you are pear shaped. For that reason you probably wear a larger size on the bottom than on the top. Is that right?

You’ll need bottoms with fuller back rises to cover you from behind which will probably need waist adjustment (in order to fit that dimension too). Those are pretty pear guidelines. But you do not carry little extras on the thigh (rectangular tendencies) which means that you can also wear straighter clothing – as long as they fit well and are flattering from behind. I hope that makes sense.
