Help: Which jeans look better with this top?

Hi Ladies,

Some of you saw what I wore last evening - blue drapey top with black jeans, and you all seemed to like it very much. I was curious to see how the top would look with white jeans so I tried it on when I got home last night. I think I'm wearing the wrong sandals though....these are metallic blush sandals, but I also wanted to see how those sandals look with white jeans. Too much mixing, I'm afraid

Which jeans look better with the top? This top is fairly new and yesterday was the first time I wore it with jeans. I've only worn it once before that, but with grey trousers.

To make comparison easier, I'm also adding yesterday's picture in the end.

Any help/inputs would be much appreciated. Thank you for looking!

Cream jeans in #2 but Im not sure how many different pairs are in the pics. Definitely cream over black for mine.

Looks better with the black in my opinion. It suits your deep winter(?) colouring. But it's perfectly wearable with the white as well. Is that a black cami underneath? If so, perhaps it would coordinate better with white instead.

Are we just looking at the same pair of jeans in 1,2,3? If so Then I rather like both cream and black jeans, but I think the same black sandals worn in 4 ought to be used with the cream jeans to bookend your hair and the little ''v' section in your top. In 4 I like the fact that the 'v' matches your jeans

I like them both! It looks maybe sleeker with the black jeans and fresher with the white, which both seem like good things.

Oh my god. The lighting in my house is terrible I think! Yes, it's the same pair of white jeans in 1,2and 3. Noted your pointers - white cami with white jeans. Thank Approprio.

Diane, I like low contrast between my jeans and shoes. It somehow makes me feel better because it lengthens the leg line. But since most of you like the black, I'll probably just repeat the black combination with different silhouettes.

I prefer the white jeans (with a white cami). It is more summer and fresh to me. But for evenings out, I prefer black jeans.

I agree with Jessica, I think the white jeans with a white cami would be lovely for a summer day. It looks great with the black jeans, but more like an "evening out" look.

I prefer the white jeans better because it has more of a summery vibe. I'd save the dark jeans for winter but they look fine.

I like both looks, but also agree that you should try a white cami with the white jeans. Love the top, btw, and think you will find it to be versatile. I have a similar top, though not the same one, and I find myself wearing it with jeans, skirts and even capris.

Thanks everyone. I did think the white jeans was more summery. I think I'll wear both the looks - actually the top has a high low hem and I have tucked it under the cami here. I think I'll just leave it out for a cool casual vibe with the white jeans. And wear the tucked in option with black jeans for evenings.

Joy, I don't have grey jeans. But I do have grey trousers. I also have slim navy trousers that I could pair the top with, I think. I'll experiment some more! Thanks everyone!

I like this top with the white jeans very much - fresh and pretty. The sandals are great here too. You do not have to match sandals to anything else and metallic is a neutral.
This top is not too bad with the black jeans but I like it better with the white.

I have always been too matchy matchy, and growing tired of it. Glad to know I can safely choose unexpected 'safe' colors for sandals.

I like both renditions. As others have said, the white is a more youthful, fun daytime look. The black has a more sophisticated evening out feel. I like the metallic sandals too. Don't talk yourself out of them!

Yeah, be more adventurous You can match if you want but you do not have too. The same with bookending your hair - it is a neat trick but you do not have to do it every time. I have dark hair and I LOVE light footwear, especially in summer. This metallic color is low contrast with the white jeans so they work really well here.
One suggestion: if you decide to wear this top untucked I suggest to use the cami in the same color as the bottoms to prevent grinning if your top is sheer or even slightly sheer against the light.

I really love the beautiful, fresh pairing of the blue and white, but the blue and black version looks great too. You've found a really versatile top:)

Agree with Sveta that metallics are neutrals; they go with everything!

Sveta - in my book, you're a real Rock Star! So I'm going to be a little adventurous! Thank you for encouraging me! The top is not at all sheer....it's a thick luscious fabric that feels amazing. But since the cami shows at the top, I will prefer to wear an all white (cami plus jeans) so that the top can 'shine'. Yesterday, I simply changed out my jeans while the top and cami from the black jeans outfit stayed. I do have new ideas to complete the outfit with white jeans, wearing a different bag, jewelry and watch.

Thanks Beth. I'm new to metallics! I didn't have anything metallic until I joined YLF. My style has always been 'safe', 'predictable' and too matchy-matchy.

I'm enjoying the idea of being a little adventurous and I'm thinking of adding a pair of silver sandals to my footwear collection. I have tons and tons of blacks and navys and tans and nudes but not a single silver! Time for a few changes....it's been long overdue...

I like them both, but have a slight preference for the black, I think because of the black tank. as approprio (and others have said) I think a white cami with the white jeans would make a world of difference

Those sandals looks great, Maneera, and I think they'd work well with your style! I don't own any metallic footwear either and I've had my eye out for some for almost a year now. I finally ordered the Franco Sarto Holts in the gold (ish)/cognac color, but had to return them, as the fit didn't work for me. It's back to the drawing board. (I bookmarked the Find below, but I'm neither that daring, nor that rich!)

Those shoes looks so cool, Jenn! I just don't wear laced up shoes well. Something about my short legs makes shoes with high vamp look awful on me....no matter how much I love them! But if you wear laced shoes happily, no harm dreaming away

Echoing everything Sveta said! Cream jeans with white cami for a summery day look, black jeans with black cami for an evening look. I actually loooove how the pastel-ish blue looks with the black; pastels paired with black tend to pop more than brights do when paired with black (to me those look better paired with white or at least adding some white to the bright/black mix). The cream jeans could work with the black cami if you popped on black footwear, too.
