Help! Sizing on 7 for all Mankind?

Whew the sales are getting me lately. I've been waiting for this one though...a sale on 7's jeans. Never owned a pair of premium denim before. I don't know about the sizing though. I'm a rectangle with pear/hourglass tendencies and usually wear an 8 in Gap denim and AE denim. What size would I need in 7's? I've heard that premium denim runs small so, I'm thinking a 30 would be a safer bet.

I've stopped wearing 7s because they are too low rise for me. I think they are better on someone with hips to hold them up, actually. I'm a 4 - 6 in Gap and wear a 28 in 7s last time I tried them on. Read reviews as sizing (and stretch) varies with style.

I'm a size 4 in Gap and a 27 in 7FAMK - could you order a 29 and a 30 to give them both a shot and then send one back?

I only wear the high rise cuts in 7FAM, but even when I tried the dojo and ginger cuts, I was a 27. They have some fit guides on their site, maybe that will help you more concretely?

Thanks for the info everyone! I missed the sale. Wow, those things go quick on Gilt. But, I'll store away the info for next time or when I'm ready to splurge on a pair of 7s.
