Help needed on sandal fit.

I'm at The Rack and found these Ryker sandals but have serious reservations about the fit ( gap) at the ankles. Other than that they feel great. Please advise.

too big around the ankles. it makes the whole shoe look ill-fitting.

Agree with BJ. It's a pity, because they are lovely. And look really nice otherwise.

I agree that the fit looks too big. How do these sandals work though, as that wide band appears likely to be uncomfortable if it actually wrapped the ankle too closely?

That's what I thought. And looking inside, they are Vince Camuto ( in a Ryker box that describes them as striped metallic snake, which they are.)

Eliza, they can't be adjusted to be tighter at the ankle. I tried some other brand that were and they were uncomfortable at the heel when the ankle strap fit more closely

Darn! That's too bad.
I wish they would make the ankle bands on sandals like that adjustable. I often have the same problem. I have largish feet (9 1/2), and shoe manufacturers seem to think that if you have big feet you have big ankles. Not always true!

I left them but wish they had fit. These zip up the back. I think they must be made to be worn somewhat loose, but this just looked strange.

And thank you for your speedy responses and being the voice of reason. A little voice in my head was whispering that Angie said they are supposed to be loose. There's loose and there's LOOSE

Just looked at the Rykers in Angie's store and they are Vince Camuto! And she does say the reviews say they run big in the ankle. The little voice was telling the truth, but I doubt she meant this much of a gap. I hope she chimes in.

That's weird! I found these sandals to fit well around the ankle. A little room was just how I liked it - but not this much room! Mine were a 6.5, Joy. What size are these?

Angie, these are an 8 (38) medium, the size of most of my footwear. I have big feet for my height and boney ankles. I might be able to wear a 7.5 but saw none to try. Do you think it would be worth a try to size down?

Too bad about that ankle! It's part of what holds the shoes on your feet, so too roomy and the sandals won't feel secure I bet.

I, too, think your toenail polish is fab - and especially with that metallic in the sandals.

I'm going to encourage a size down because they look long in the foot. And I know how comfy these are!!!! Fab looking comfy shoes are so hard to find. Hopefully the ankle strap will be smaller!

I'll order the 7.5s then. They felt very comfortable and are just what I need to refresh summer outfits and the gold will help me use bags withies of gold hardware.

Joy-I hope the 7.5 fit you. I order the ones on Angie's store today. I am hoping they work. I think they will look great with the EF dresses.

I hope the smaller size might work, these look too large for sure. The zappos reviews also complained of a large ankle strap so perhaps there are some manufacturing differences between batches or such.

These are the ones I ordered. The silver and black color.
I have been looking at them fork a while. I returned a pair of sandals so nw I feel like I can justify them.
