Help! "My" Fluevogs at a good price, but what size?

The Fluevogs I have been eyeing are at a good price on Amazon right now: http://www.amazon.com/John-Flu.....B004BZL0AE but they only have a half-size larger and a half-size smaller than my usual shoe size.

Can anyone comment on Fluevog sizing, and whether it makes more sense, if I decide to try these, to go up or down a half-size?

Fluevog sizing is fairly random - I would suggest calling one of the stores listed on their site and asking how this shoe runs, or looking at the reviews on the site. They tend to run big or wide, but it's so random you can't know for sure.

Ah, random sizing -- excellent. Just what the online shopper hopes for...

I thought, since the toes are narrower on these than on some of the Fluevog styles, that I would go up rather than down.

My word -- I put these in the shopping cart and more than 30 additional dollars was removed from the price, saying "promotion applied." I didn't enter a promotion code, nor do I see a promotion advertised.

Random sizing AND random pricing! Perfect.

Well, that's some random goodness, at least! Fluevog online has the worst shipping and returns policy. But they pretty much require you to be in contact with an agent about sizing before you buy.

I agree with Una - fluevog sizing is EXTREMEMLY inconsistent, even within shoe families, so definitely check reviews, etc. Amazon's returns for shoes, while not free, are very easy and reasonable (4.95 prepaid, I think) in my experience, so it wouldn't be a huge issue if you had to return.

Those are stunning Fluevogs! I like the narrower toe. Can you order both sizes, just in case?
