I need your help. I have three weeks in Europe from mid June before doing our Arctic cruise I have been trying to decide whether to take a pair of low wedge sandals or thongs, but neither seem to be quite right for a multitude of situations/places/activities. I am a casual traveller, however I think I need to lift my game a bit for Europe, but it must still all fit into a carry on.
Some people on another forum raved about these Merrell Agave sandals and said they are comfortable sandals to wear when travelling for long hours of walking while playing tourist, without looking like a complete dork.
At this stage of planning my travel capsule will probably be:
Bottoms: 3 pants, 1 x black lightweight summer, 1 x lightweight dove grey wider leg pants, 1 x black medium weight trouser, all of which can be rolled up to 3/4 or 7/8 length. (Don't fret, I will also be taking ponte leggings for the Arctic portion but I will not be wearing the sandals then!)
Toppers: 1 x black boyfriend cardigan, 1 x grey button front fleece jacket, 1 x blue travel/showerproof jacket. Mostly if I am warm enough to be wearing sandals I will most likely be using the cardigan.
Tops: Mainly greys and blacks with a bit of blue thrown in somewhere.
Other Shoes: Black trainers for hard core tourist days and day hiking and black light weight mary janes for dining out, slightly dressier occasions - these will also be fine for dining on the cruise, as its not in the least dressy.
So, finally to the question - should I get the sandals in black or aluminium?
