Help me style citron skirt - YouLookFab Forum

Hi!
I got the citron skirt Angie recommended from the Nordstrom half yearly sale, but I'm having some difficulty styling it. Not sure if I don't have the right colors or it's just not a good shape for me.

I'm short waisted with big bust. I usually do the half-tuck when wearing a skirt. Live in a hot climate but need to be able to add a blazer or sweater to wear it to work. but the bow adds bulk right under where most of my jackets fall...

1) black and white faux wrap top
2) olive pleione top
3) trying to make it a column of color?? With a royal purple cardigan?
4) black and white short swing jacket over column of color.
5) cream blazer -love the color bit showing lump where bow is under jacket.
6) I dont own sea-foam, as suggested on recent ensemble post. I prefer jewel tones to pastels. Does this aqua work??

Other styling tips and shoe suggestions welcome!

I think this looks fabulous on you. I love all your stylings, but especially 1, 3 and 4. Have you tried experimenting with how you tie the bow? Maybe try to tie it more to the front of the skirt or try a knot instead of a bow to flatten it out. It only appears to be an issue in 5. I think it looks good in the other outfits.

I agree with Brooklyn. The skirt looks fabulous on you and I like your styling. 1 and 4 are my favorites but they all look good. I think the aqua color works well with the citron.
As Brooklyn suggests, experiment with tying the skirt. Maybe a square knot instead of the bow would not seem as fussy for you. Rather than wear them pulled tight, I like to fluff the knot out a bit to look more decorative.

I love the skirt and especially like 1 and 4. I definitely think it's worth trying a square knot: I find they tend to look neater because they lie flat, which you may find you prefer under a jacket.

3 is a great combination of colors, and 4 is a similar silhouette but still shows off the bow.

I also like 1 for an option without a jacket--I think it has a fun kind of 70s vibe.

I was also really tempted by this skirt, but I have soo many colors in my wardrobe right now and citron isn't one of them!

I cherish the skirt and particularly like 1 and 4. I certainly believe it merits attempting a square bunch: I discover they tend to look neater in light of the fact that they lie level, which you may discover you lean toward under a coat.

Good job...I had trouble with this skirt for the same reasons..I'm very short waisted, very broad and busty and can't wear anything tucked so I passed but I love the color and the sash! If anything is too fussy I won't wear it so at least I've learned that about myself!
