Help me shop tops (pretty please)

I find myself going to the closet and still not finding things I want to wear. I think most of the issue is in the top area now. I have several pairs of new jeans that are working well, and I also have a couple good toppers. What's missing in the equation are tops.

What I've discovered is that I DO like the fluid fit of tops (how behind am I, haha) - but within MY requirements:

Fluid fit (no old school tight around the abdomen t-shirt cuts)
MUST MUST MUST have a set in shoulder
NO dropped shoulders
Usually batwing tops don't work on me (not sure why)
At least a short sleeve but elbow or longer is preferred
Would like the ability to add a blazer or vest over the top

I have a couple grey shirts that fit this bill. I would like to add some more in varying colors - both neutrals and brights.

Can anyone help me??

I am usually sized out of some retailers (Club Monaco, Massimo Duitti, some Zara, F21, Madewell, etc) unless the cut is really generous.

Retailers that usually get me are: GAP, BR, WHBM, Nordstrom, Macy's INC, some Talbots, some Chicos.

Anybody find tops like this lately and care to share?

I can offer up this shirt, which I own. It's easy fit and easy care. Runs a little big. It's not the most cutting edge item but it works and doesn't complain.

There is a dearth of tops in my finds because I struggle so much with them!

I think what I struggle with most is the set-in shoulder. SO many tops nowadays have dropped shoulders and I look horrific with that cut. I guess I have sloping shoulders so that cut does absolutely no-thing for me.

Do you have some colors that you like to work with? also any special fabrications?
I have so many tops in my closet and next to no bottoms....

Glory, I tend to love bright cool colors. No warm tones. My coloring is similar to Suz if that helps.

If I had to pick I would say hot pink and turquoise would be the brights I wear most often.

In terms of toppers, I have a navy blazer now, and just added a white moto.

Thanks WL. I tend to overlook JCrew. I think bc in the past their sizing wasn't as broad as it is now (meaning I was sized out) - and being a curvy body shape, I found their cuts to be more favorable for rectangles and ITs. But I should give them another try. Thanks for the reminder.
