I had a chance to do a quick review of my summer sandal collection (it gets warm enough here that from May-September I wear sandals most days), and it could stand a little boost.
The Jeffrey Campbell Produce open-toe booties will help. Those will definitely punch up my spring/summer wardrobe and should be pretty comfortable until the really hot days, with the perforated detail that lets air in.
However, I could use something new in a low wedge, or not-too-high platform that will go with lots of casual outfits and has a bit of that edge I like. A lot of my old sandals are platforms (espadrille, etc.) and I'm a little tired of that look now, although I'm sure I will still wear some of those because they are flattering and comfortable.
Here are pics of a pair I tried on at Nordstrom and bought, knowing that I could return them if I changed my mind (I tend to BBQ on things like this at Nordstrom since returns are so easy). I love that the gladiator styling is not OTT. The metallic part is gold, which gave me pause since I'm a silver girl, but the gold is a soft gold that almost appears platinum. They're pretty comfortable. Not spectacularly so, but acceptable. The price is really reasonable. What do you think of them?
I'm also eyeing these:

I LOVE them, but ack, the price. I know there are some fans of LD Tuttle here (IK and Anna, feel free to chime in!) -- are they worth it? How's the comfort?
I'm continuing to look. Preferably something with a slight heel, black or metallic, and distinctive but not too clunky or too covered up. I like gladiator styles, but I'm a little wary of straps that come too high up my ankles unless there is a strong vertical element in the shoe that draws the eye up and down, rather than cut me off at the ankle.
Suggestions welcome!
