Help me pick some fabric for a coat I'm making...

I'm going to make this pattern: http://voguepatterns.mccall.co......pinterest and I thought I'd see which fabric you all prefer. I found two that I like.

1. http://cdn.moodfabrics.com/pro.....W23193.jpg I like that this is a dark red which is popular this season. I like the texture of the paisley.

2. http://cdn.moodfabrics.com/pro.....W12057.jpg This is a boucle, which is hard to tell from the picture. It kindof reminds me of some of the new Tory Burch coats. http://pinterest.com/pin/96616354476922655/ and http://pinterest.com/pin/15833036160837657/. Also, there was some green Marc Jacobs coating that is similar that I"m kicking myself for not buying last year, so that's maybe why I'm drawn to this one.

Anyway, I'm curious about your opinions. Burgundy, green or find something else!

I think either would look great with your colouring, but I like the paisley print a titch more.

I like the green. And the coat is a gorgeous style!

I prefer the green coloring on you, but love the subtle paisley pattern in the burgundy. The coat is fabulous!

I vote green. I think the paisley will be harder to match and harder to feel current in the long term. Both lovely colors, though, and the coat looks so cute!

Thanks, it looks like green is in the lead. I'm think I'm leaning that way, too.

The pattern is an Issey Miyake pattern (one of Vogues new fall releases) and his patterns usually have some interesting details.

That is a wonderful pattern Jem.

IMO the paisley reads as more suitable for evening. The green looks more versatile.

I prefer the paisley. But then I bat for Team Dressy and have the magpie gene.

I LOVE the idea of houndstooth too. Yum!

Geez Angie, you just made it hard! I was about to order the green, but now I need to think some more. I wish I could see the fabrics in person--that would make it easier.

I love the houndstooth, too, although it's not my best colors and I already have a houndstooth coat anyway. Modgrl, you would look fab in that pattern and color! Now, if I could find a big houndstooth in some other fun colors than black/white, I'd definitely do that!
