My wonderful mom bought me a gift certificate to John Fluevog for Christmas, but I'm not sure what to get. The only hole I feel like I need to fill right now is for brown heels of some kind, and there isn't much brown on the Fluevog site. I am looking at these:
1. Viardot in brown: These are so cute, but I'm not sure how versatile they'll be with the purple trim? Is that subtle enough that I could wear these shoes with other colors in the rest of my outfit?
2. Mollie Johnson in brown/pink: I love these but again, not sure of the versatility of the colors. My monitor is making these look almost orange but the reviews say it's more of a rich brown and that the pink is more purplish.
3. Giulia bootie: Again, this is adorable, but wouldn't be wearable in the warm weather...I was hoping for more of a year-round shoe.
4. Machiatto in brown: I don't love these as much. Also, can a slingback be worn in cooler weather with tights?
I don't want to buy such an expensive gift if it's something I don't love, but I can't think of anything else I need right now. I definitely don't need black shoes or boots, I have a pair of red shoes, I have black and white oxfords, I have nude T-straps and black sandals for summer. And other than red, I don't know how much use I'd get out of colored shoes, as pretty as they are. What do you think?
