Help me pick a new coat

My top options:
1. Club Monaco "Samone" Coat -- http://www.clubmonaco.com/prod.....ndSrc=cart
This is very on trend with the collar-less style and pink color. The pink color isn't too practical for my lifestyle however, but this does not rule it out. Sorry I couldn't get a bigger picture.
2. Vince Asymmetrical Coat --

I tried this on and love it. It's the most expensive of all my options, but the price doesn't rule it out. Available at Nordstrom too.
3. Paul & Joe Sister Ocher Jacket.

I like the shape of this, and it fits with my lifestyle. What do you think of the ocher color for me? Do you think the dark blue would be better? Do you know about French sizing?
4. Sessun Toggle Coat

My last coat was a Sessun coat and I was very pleased with it. Is this style too young for me? It looks sort of collegiate. It's probably not my fist choice but i like the color.
5. GF Ferre Red Coat

The style is more conservative but that could be a good thing, giving the coat a longer life. The red color seems so happy for winter.
6. BGN Coat

No experience with this brand and unsure of the size, but I like the way this looks.

No way I can pick just one. I have a Paul and Joe coat. French sizing is usually EU sizing. 38 is about a 4 I would say. Sometimes it runs 1,2,3 but I think that is being phased out. I love #3 for the unexpected color too. Hmm, I also love #1 for the pink, #7 for the look, and actually all of them for different reasons. Maybe more information about what you are looking for?

Denise, I could see you in any of these. My favorite is 2. I'm not sure about the color of 3. Have you tried anything like it before? The dark blue might be safer.

Thanks Shevia. I probably laid out too many choices. I just looked at them all again and #4 and #5 might be too classic for my taste, which leaves me with 5 choices.

I want a very modern looking coat, one that I could wear for 3 seasons and it would not date. So that means two things: a style that might be ahead of the curve but not too trendy to look "so last year." I'm afraid that might rule out the pink coat.

Of the remaining five choices I like 2 and 7. They're so opposite because 2 is roomy and flowy and 7 is almost strict. I'd have to see them on over some of your characteristic outfits. I want to like 6 but it seems a bit cocoon-like to me--again, hard to tell from a pic.

I really like 5, 6 and 7. I think those colors would look nice on you and I like the structure of them. I guess I like structure for cool weather because you don't get it from exposed wrists and necks. Sometimes the very unstructured ones feel like crazy cat lady coats (this coming from a certified crazy cat lady).

For colors on you, I like 1,2, and 5. For shape I like the cocoon shape of 6.

I love #2 and #7! I think both are beautiful and will continue to work for many seasons to come, which is personally an important factor to me when it comes to choosing a coat! They both have a nice shape and can be worn dressed up or down!

I would also choose based on which would work with any variety of topper you may choose to wear underneath it! I have a few coats that I love but barely wear since they only work with more form fitting tops, and who wants to be limited by their outerwear?! I'm sure you'll look awesome in any of your choices!

#2 or #6. Both look gorgeous to me. I also love the pink one (#1) - and have studied it closely over the last couple of days (because I want a pink coat) - but the sleeves look as though they are only 3/4 length and I want a long-sleeve coat.

Thanks for all of the input, it's very helpful.
- #1 is impractical with the shorter sleeves, even on me they wouldn't be full length but it would be fun to try this on.
- #2, which is the only coat I've seen and touched in person, is not lined. It has a really nice classic yet avant garde quality that I think would span a few years. Of course the quality at nearly $700, more with tax -- is superb. Vince puts such a premium on their pieces! I like the mushroom color which would go with many things and hide dog dirty nicely.
- Angie keeps talking about the coat shape of the season and I think #7 is it. Being Zara the quality might be very hit and miss.
- #6 with its cocoon shape still looks modern to me but do you think that shape is actually a bit last two years? Or is it still trending. Anyone know?

I really like #2, but will it be warm enough for your needs?

#6 on the web site says it's "Velour"?? Would that fabric be a magnet for dog hair??

I liked 4 on your pinterest board! But after further reading your concerns, will vote for red or cocoon. I think in opposite ways, each has a classic and a modern element. Colour and shape are the two aspects. The classic part of the equation should keep them going a bit.

#7 spoke to me ----its an updated classic shape, can work with jeans but will work with a dress or skirt as well.

The only ones I really can't see you in are 4 and 5. 1 just seems too short to me.

What a wonderful selection of coats you have posted. I like 6 first, then 7. I find 6 has some interesting details that might appeal and I like the larger fit of it.

I'm skipping the responses so as not to color my first impression. #2 and 7 stand out to me. I wish 7 were available in other colors -- I would try it myself. 2 is my favorite.

After reading your comments, #7 seems ideal...modern style, color that hides doggy dirt and not as expensive as #2. You look wonderful in those light neutrals. I like the shape of 6, but all the black seems a harsh color for you plus showing dog hair (unless your dog is black).

I like the Zara and GF Ferre the best. Would love to see pics of you wearing them. Not sure why but 2 is coming across as filmsy and not well made. Or something--I realize it's one of the favorites here.

Oooh, I like 2 as well. A little bit funky but cozy-looking. I also like 5 and 6, although I also wonder if the cocoon-ish shape will look dated more rapidly than some of the others. 7 is a bit difficult to see in the photo, given the way the model is posed, but IMHO it seems to be a very classic shape and color.

1. is beautiful but not very practical...then again, my own climate may be colouring my perceptions unduly.

2. has that timeless avant garde element to it, which makes it appealing. But It's hard to say whether the lapels would overwhelm.

3. not sure about the colour of this for you, but worth a try.

I am not crazy about 4 or 5 for you.

6. I love. The silhouette would work well with skinnies, I think, narrowing from the shoulders -- an IT shape. You would look extremely cozy in it.

7. I love the shape but feel hesitant about the colour for you.

I am voting before reading everyone else's response, so sorry if this si a duplicate. I LOVE the Vince Asymmetrical Coat for you. It feels like your style to me, and feel like it is appropriate to your lifestyle. I think you will get years and years ofwear out of it!

My second choice would be #6.

I am also voting before reading. #2 and #6 are my faves.
The vince coat has a beautiful style and color. I think it is different enough that in will last a few years.
I like the shape of 6.

3 and 6 are my favorites, though the color of 6 probably has more longevity. I have a toggle coat like #4 from Sierra Trading Post. It is warm but so heavy I rarely reach for it. We're the same age and it never occurred to me that it could be too young of a look.

I really like 1, 2, 6 and 7 for you, Denise. I think fluid fit coats and silhouettes like the cocoon coat will still be quite on trend for the next few seasons.
