help me, I'm going clubbing?!

So as many of you must realize by now, I'm moving. In a week! And I'm working through Wednesday!

Some of my colleagues have decided that to mark the occasion they will take me clubbing. Why? Well, of course: because I've never been in a club in my life!

One colleague says I can wear "anything." Another says, "Wear that skirt--the one with the stripes--" referring to my VC tube skirt. (And here I'd decided that said skirt was appropriate everyday wear.)

Any suggestions for attire or anything else? I want to retain my dignity, of course. This happens tomorrow!

ps Do you think they will make me dance?

For clubbing, how about your moto jacket on top? I generally wear one of my motos or a cold shoulder sweater, as both are current and just a little edgy, but still leave you covered and classy. On bottom, your tightest skinnies, a fitted pencil skirt, or similar. Add shoes or booties with a bit of a heel, and maybe some chunky jewellery, and you're all set.

As to dancing, well, sometimes there is no escape. Try to grin and bear it. LOL

I'd go for a sparkly top and your sassiest jeans with fun shoes and maybe a fitted jacket that you could take off if needed.

EDIT: now that I think about it, last time I went to see a funk show at the casinos this summer, this describes what I wore lol.

Make sure your shoes are not too high (so you can dance) and that you have pockets (you won't want to be hanging on to a purse all night).

I don't really dance. And I'm sensitive to loud noises (which I wasn't even thinking of till Beth Ann's sparkly earplugs). But everyone is so excited about giving me this cultural experience. And DD said I should. I should probably stop listening to her

I don't have a sparkly top. Hmmmm.

Thanks, FF! If I wore my moto, do you think there would be a theft risk while I was out on the dance floor?

I wouldn't imagine so, unless you're going clubbing somewhere pretty seedy. Also, in my experience, there has never been a time where everyone was out dancing at once. There's generally at least one or two people still at the table who can watch purses, coats, etc. Of course, I guess that just depends on your colleagues.

Hmmm... I would not leave anything I care about and want to see again. Too many people I know have had jackets stolen.

But the outfit looks perfect so far!

I was going to say, start with those great SM pointy toed black booties and work up from there! You could wear the same skinnies you wore in Santa Monica and a comfortable, flowing fun fluid top that would stand out in a club.

I'm still cracking up reading your post! So awesome! I can't wait to find out what attire you chose! Whatever it is, I bet you ROCKED it!

I like a tight fitting bottom with a loose top for that kind of scene. That way, you're dressed appropriately but not over doing it. Think shiny leggings with a swing-y top, maybe with some sparkle. And I always pile on the jewelry and rock a killer clutch. Might as well use the fun stuff when you get the chance!

Yep, don't take your most expensive coat or anything like that. Coat checks are chaotic, even in the best clubs.

Does the skirt cling to the hose? That's my only concern with the outfit. Otherwise, fab!
