Help me find metallic ankle strap low wedges.

This is the last post for tonight, hopefully. Sorry I'm clogging up the forum today.

I am hunting for some low wedges to have as my backup wedding shoes (for dancing, if the heels get too painful by the end of the day). I want them to be light gold or silver, with a 1-2" wedge (or a chunky heel). The kicker is that I most likely need an ankle strap in order to get them to stay on my narrow heels. Elastic is not enough. I would prefer an open toe (sandal style or a BIG peep toe) as that is more comfy for me. I also need the leather to be soft, especially in the bunion area.

(I have two pairs of these at home right now, waiting for a post office trip to go back to Nordies'. Sizing down did not help the falling off issue.)

Barkingdogshoes.com had comfortable bridal shoe suggestions on April 2, but the shoes were mostly white and ivory. Anyi Lu and Benjamin Adams had straps over the top and a number had elastic sling backs with lowish heels. A few looked bunion friendly.

Have you tried searching on zappos? I think you could put all of your requirements into the "narrow your choices" on the side panel and then search from there.

Donna, my actual wedding shoes (Naturalizer Prissys) are actually on Barking Dog Shoes' list. They are comfy for heels, but I may want something more stable/lower as a backup in case my feet get tired. I was not fond of any of her other choices... as you said they all seem kind of too white and frumpy to me. I do have slight poison eye for white shoes. I will check out Anyi Lu and Benjamin Adams (I have never heard of the latter before.)

Kristin, Zappos search has never worked very well for me. I think the problem is that they don't categorize all their items, so putting in specific requirements often seems to remove things that ought to come up.

I like the 'blush satin' colour (shown in photo below). My only concern is that they might not be formal enough (depends on your venue etc.) or that they aren't stable enough for dancing - but figured I'd throw it in here just in case.

VC, I love myhabit! it's my favorite sample sale site. Those sandals will be too naked for me though. I have flat duck feet, narrow at the back, flat and spread out at the front, so I need something with side support, otherwise my feet look like a pancake.

That's what I was worried about - too 'bare' looking and not enough support. Still though, I thought they were sort of pretty.

So here are some options I found. Your opinions are welcome! Keep in mind that these are the "comfy" shoes for the end of the evening. The plan is to keep the strappy heeled sandals on for as long as I can handle it (may be the whole night, we shall see) and then switch to the comfy shoes if necessary. As such, they MUST be soft and comfy. I would also like to be able to wear them to the rehearsal dinner/mothers' day brunch.

Marc Jacobs. Pricy. Anyone know if his shoes are comfy? I prefer gold to silver.

Sofft. The brand is usually comfy, and I like the style. I worry that the cork sole is too casual though. Heel is slightly higher than I'd like.

I love those rather expensive Marc Jacobs sandals...they might be perfect for 'end of the evening' and next-day festivities - AND they *are* simple enough to be able to wear for the rest of the spring/summer and probably even next year too, so in this respect - the price might not be too bad...it's all about CPW, right? I don't know if they are comfortable - worth a try?

And they aren't quite right either. Not bad, and they are reasonably priced, and likely quite comfortable, but I fear they aren't refined enough.

Tough one ! Wow - I searched, "low wedge sandals", "low MaryJane sandals", and so on.

You know what though? I have the same problem with feet slipping out of shoes, and also want comfort & style, so this has been a useful search for me. A lower-heeled, comfortable wedge style sandal WITH an ankle strap is tough to find!

I like those Marc Jacobs sandals so much that I clicked on Angie's link and read the reviews - reviews say the leather is incredibly soft.

I think you and Angie might have found the perfect shoe for your requirements, and totally enabling here - they are beautiful and simple enough to last a long time.

OK, I'm ordering the Marc Jacobs. I have had so many things sell out on me from Nordies' lately that I don't want to wait. =P Plus Nordies' still has gold in 38, and Zappos does not.

ETA: also ordered these borns in gold. They are borns so they will be comfy, although sometimes I have problems with the footbed stitching.

Just have to pop in because I have the second pair--the J Crew wedges--in suede. Although I love them, and I really really love mine and love the silver ones--they probably won't be dance all night shoes. They don't have much support. They are more of a wedge heel strapped (barely) onto your foot. Fine for a leisurely stroll on the boardwalk. Not so much action shoes!
