Help me find a white dress part two

Hi All, thanks for everyone who helped me with white dresses for my diner en blanc coming up in August. I ordered two white dresses from the posting on white dresses a few weeks ago.

First up: the Rebecca Minkoff featured in the blog post. I was really unsure about this one. I’m not so excited about the shapeless prairie look on me, but I thought I would try it. it looked so cute in the post. I don’t hate it.

Second: no-name Amazon dress. I like how the front looks, it gives me a waist, it’s kind of short which I like, it is a little bit juvenile but also fun and flirty. The back is super weird. I cannot figure out how to tie it.

I don’t love or hate either of them, and given how much I was worried about a white dress on me I think that is a good sign. So what do you think - do I go with the prairie Rebecca Minkoff dress or the spritely little summer Amazon dress? Or should I start over and try to find something totally different?

Of these too, I much prefer the first RM dress! So pics #1 and #2. I find it very flattering! It fits extremely well. Gorgeous sleeves and neckline. GREAT length!

I like the second one, and I saw a hack about tying those! Tie the tie with your bra strap going through the initial loop of the bow- you won't see it after you have the full bow tied, and it will keep everything in place.

Chris offered a great tip for those type of dresses with the tie back. I think both are nice but I love the first one especially. So pretty!

I love the first one! I think the short length and flirty bottom ruffle reduce any ‘prairie’ vibe and it’s quite flattering.

I prefer the front of the Amazon one, and the back of the RM. Do you have a white belt or sash that you could try with the RM?

Love the first one on you, --and to say it frankly, it is much more current, too. Love the deeper hem on back especialy. You can always take in the ruffles under arm a bit (if you would preffer them not to flutter so wide appart) but I love the dress as it is. Then, you can always temper the volume of the dress with a small crossbody-, or a waist-bag, will give you that little waist you miss now (which I fully understand and can relate to)-but this trick usually works great for me on dresses of that kind.

Another vote for the RM dress. I like the length and the wide ruffle. Plus that back tie on the second dress would be a problem.

I like the first one too, but I don’t like the sound of “I’m not so excited, and I don’t hate it” because it feels like you’re settling. I would keep looking to see if you can find something that rings your bell. If you can’t find anything then go for your favorite of these.

I agree that it sounds like you're settling, but like the front of the second dress and the back of the first more.

Thanks to all who weighed in on the dresses. I can't figure out how to deal with the back bow on the amazon dress, so it's going back.

Good insights on settling Lana and suntiger... One of my style priorities is to stay current. I am pushing myself in a VERY new direction with this prairie dress. I didn't know what to expect wearing a white potato sack. My inclination would always be to stick with something dark and conventionally flattering, but what fun would that be if our styles never evolved?

It doesn’t look like a potato sack at all! No way!
Are you keeping and wearing this one to the event?
I agree with Lana though that “I don’t hate it” is not a great way to feel about it. It looks so great I would hope you might gradually fall in love with it?
