Help me find a summer knit dress!

I have been searching for a cute summery dress, just above the knee, that could be worn casually or dressed up a little. Knit, so it'll be easy care.

So many of the dresses these days are way too short! I don't want strapless. Best would be an a-line.

I did find a cute style at Boden; is this a good brand? I have never ordered from them before.

I tried a cute one from Lands' End. It arrived today, and is weirdly too big up top. (Not normally a problem for me!)

I am turning to you. Help! My budget for this is about $75.

Have you tried Eddie Bauer? I'd had good luck withnthrirvdresses in the past.

I don't know what size you are, but if you are about a size 8 or larger, look at the Travelsmith site's dresses.

I like Eddie Bauer, but the solids all seem dark or black. I'd love a bright, summery color like pink, turquoise, etc. But thanks!

Free People! They have some nice knitted dresses with sleeves in awesome summery colors. They can be a little bohemian, but it's done in a very sleek and flattering way. Their clothes are also super durable.

I have not laundered it yet, but it seems well made. I plan to wash it in cold, on gentle, in a delicates bag, and hang dry.

It's not exactly what you're asking for -- it has a high-low hem -- but I thought it was worth mentioning. I've worn the black one three times in a week (a couple of times it was just for a couple of hours), and I reached for the blue one yesterday, so it looks like I'm keeping the blue too. I have such a hard time finding summer dresses I like that are casual and long and cover a normal bra that I jumped on this one. It is cool and breezy to wear in 90 degree weather!

I also found that Garnet Hill has some cute styles, but they're just a little more than I wanted to pay. I guess I'll try Target and Kohl's, and if I have no luck, I'll try Boden or Garnet Hill, and hope it's worth the splurge. The reason I don't want to spend too much is because I'm in the process of losing weight, and this dress will likely only be worn this year. Also, I don't NEED it as much as I need accessories and shoes to go with what I already have, so I don't want to overspend. Still frustrated/annoyed that the Lands End dress was too big; I think I will have them send me the small just in case. Can't hurt to try, I suppose.
