Hi - Waving to you all from from snowy Minnesota! I'm always on the blog but haven't posted here in ages, so I hope you won't mind if I ask for your collective advice on a series of outfits for a week of events. The YLF Forum always has the best advice!

Backstory: Last year, I wrote a biography of the musician Prince, called The Rise of Prince. Starting Monday, I'll be attending a University of Minnesota academic symposium on Prince, and then will participate in a four-day event called "Celebration 2018" at Prince's studio complex, Paisley Park. I'll be there in my capacity as author (and fan). There will be concerts, dance parties, academic panels, a candlelight vigil marking the night he died two years ago, meet and greets at local restaurants, tours of Minneapolis - you name it. A huge complicating factor is the weather. Last year at this time, it was in the 60s. Today we're in the midst of a blizzard and expect a foot of snow. I've been scrambling to make adjustments to the outfits I'd planned!

The photos below are a little dark due to aforementioned blizzard, but I hope you can still assess them. I want to look fun, authoritative, funky (of course), purple (of course) and creative. Do you think these work? Any suggestions for improvement? Any outfits you prefer?

Photo #6 - WHBM tank and cardi set; black coated jeans; gold Marc Fisher western booties - cardi has silver snaps so I don't think the boots work with this outfit?!?

Photo #7 - Speaking of which, FREAKING AWESOME Marc Fisher cowboy booties! Thank you Angie! I feel so rock n roll in them.

Photo #8 - Instead of cowboy booties with #6, Marc Fischer maroon heeled hiking boots?

Photo #9 - WHBM tank and cardi set with black coated jeans, this time with maroon Steve Madden heeled hiking boots. Better than #7?

Photo #10 - LOFT green sweater, gold pendant necklace, black coated jeans, gold cowboy booties, Furla

Photo #11 - Nighttime dance party outfit - Black boho assymetrical tunic; black leggings; Matisse leopard print booties; LAMB clutch (does this work?). Chunky leather and gold bracelets and big dangling gold chain earrings.

Photos #12 - 13 - ASTR ruffly navy and olive wrap blouse, first with olive utility pants (as it turns out, too short to wear with socks and booties. Boo!) and second with slim dark jeans (better, but a lot of navy). On the fence about this one. Should I try white bottoms?
