I'm really figuring out and defining my style after being all over the place the last couple years. I have returned to my roots.
For work I want to rock a smart casual style
pants and jacket
skirt and jacket
or
dress and jacket

not suits -

During the NAS I picked up the waterfall jacket which i know will go into heavy rotation. First picture - the next three pictures are possible choices.

Now on my shopping list I want to add a moto styled jacket. Which jacket would you pick and why?

My colors after really paying attention to my closet - gray, black, off white, navy blue, maroonish, mustard - some olive.

I would pick whichever one would work better with your dresses since you say you want to wear that combination and the (gorgeous!!) Sejour looks as if it will be too long proportionately with dresses.

Hm well without knowing more about your stylistic preferences, I can tell you how I perceive each of the three jackets and maybe you'll find that helpful

The first (olive) is the most casual looking of the bunch to me, and also the trendiest. I bought a similar jacket during NAS though mine isn't moto styled; I added the find below so you can see.

The second (tipped) has the most classic vibe, and would probably function more as a blazer than as a moto. This is the dressiest of the three, and the most different from the one you've already got (the waterfall).

The third (black canvas) is the next most casual, and would function most like a moto. I have a hunch that in person this jacket would actually look the most casual, and it has a touch of outerwear vibe to me.

I think #3 would be the most versatile, and is also the most different to the one you already have. It may work with dresses, whereas the others I think would work with pants/jeans ... not sure about the moto jacket/dress combination .... guess it depends on the dress though.

I would pick #2 (tipped) as it is more structured in its design as well as like Aida said, it is more classic.

frannieb - if I am reading you right, it sounds like you really want a moto style blazer. If you want it to work with skirts and dresses a more cropped length always works better for me. I think, as emm suggested, the NYDJ is the most versatile for the polished look and seems a good weight. I have last years EF waxed cotton moto. It's cute but it's very light weight and unlined. You can wear it over dresses no problem but it's going to bring in a more RATE element, it's more a casual summer piece for me. But it does work as a blazer and light topper. I am concerned about the visual/real weight of topper 1 and it's longer length. You'd have to try it on, but I think the others would all have more versatility. No 2 is very cute but it is more casual than 3 and would limit your color choices, although it you wanted two jackets of this ilk or a casual topper it would be a really nice choice.
