I bought this coat a few weeks ago, but since buying the purple puffer I can't decide whether to keep this one or not? It's hits just under my bum does that make it only suitable for trousers or can it be worn with skirts and dresses too? I don't think this coat can work with dresses as well as the purple one - it is not long enough to cover them and not short enough to be in a jacket category. Also I don't like that color on you very much - purple is much better. I vote return too!

I like it, but I agree it's not doing that much for you. Maybe if the waist had a wide belt or something? It looks kind of in between styles for some reason...

Vote for return. The fact you're doubting your purchase at all is a sign it has nothing to do in your wardrobe.

I'll hand you another tissue Louise. I vote return, I find shiny fabrics easily show off oily skin and the color is not as flattering near your face as the purple coat.

I hate to say it, but return. The purple puffer is an absolute stunner on you. This is nice, but why settle for nice?

Maybe it's the lighting in your photo that is not showing the coat at its best because I do like it in the link you posted. However, I don't know if the color suits you. You seem like you really like it, Figure out the cost per wear and see if that helps you make your decision.

Pros
#1 I spend a large chunk of my working day outside with the children and you all know how I like variety
#2 I don't have another coat this length
#3 I don't have a pale coat
#4 I like the pale shiny colour
#5 Angie likes it

Cons
#1 It's £75
#2 It's most suitable for trousers
#3 The general YLF concensus is to return
#4 I already have 4 autumn/ winter coats though 1 is 6 years old and another is a second hand calf length one saved for snowy playground duty.

Thanks goodness M&S have a generous return policy and I have till January to return it x

I like this coat, Louise! I think it is completely different from the purple one, so I vote keep if that's not messing your budget. The only thing that worries me is you indicate you almost never wear trousers, but you do wear jeans to work, right? (i.e. will you get enough wear out of this coat?)

I wear jeans a lot at the weekend and I have black skinnies I wear to work along with some wide leg trousers and trouser jeans x

Louise - Is it as shiny as in the pictures? The website photos show a more subdued shine. I like the fit and length. The only thing turning me off is the shine.

I actually love the jacket Louise but would prefer it with the collar a little open and a thick woolly scarf poking through for contrast. It is styled similarly in your link and I think it would make a big difference to how your jacket looks on you.

If it is -2 outside, please ignore all my advice and do up your coat to the top.

Zapotee the shine is like the website picture I photographed it at night so the flash really made the shine stand out. Roseandjoan I don't know why I did it up so high I never do coats up to the top.
I've decided to keep it. I had to return it because the zip was faulty but I couldn't leave the shop whithout replacing it. Many thanks for everyones honest opinions and putting up wih my faffing (another Louise word, means being indecisive/ messing about, wasting time)!! x

Louise, I think it's a cute coat. I like the fur trimmed hood. I agree that the color isn't the best but if you wore a scarf that would help remedy the issue. The question is; can you get something you like better for the same price? If not, then I vote keep!

I'm inclined to say "return." I love, love, love the purple one on you, and I think this fills a similar wardrobe niche.
