I really like this look on Kate Lanphear. I'm hoping to find a boyfriend sweater to give the same effect. I particularly like the exposed collarbone. I can't do small Vs but I do like the exaggerated ones.

Here's an attempt from Zara, a nice merino v-neck they just put out. My first two photos are a medium (intentionally oversized), and the second two photos are a small. I think neither is great for what I want (frumptastic side views, especially), but what do you think? How much do I need to size up to get this look? Other ideas? There's a Vince sweater that might do the trick though it's more expensive.

Sorry for the awful photos. My photo spot is even worse than usual because the roommates' room and closet are now full of things.

Incidentally, Lanphear is one of my main style inspirations, but I was intrigued to realize that I rarely end up in her head-to-toe black looks even though that's what I used to think I wore. Instead, I gravitate towards more faded jeans, white shirts, and such - and when she occasional goes in that direction herself, those are the images I pin from pinterest. I hadn't noticed how consistent I was about that.
