After my interview yesterday I took myself to Chadstone with a mission: hunt down woven tops. I struggle with tops in my wardrobe, and the few that I have, most are knit. So even though a few knit ones caught my eye, I diligently ignored them and went for the wovens only.

I was actually suprised to find a few that I liked. I remember looking this time last year and having no luck at all!! They're fairly pricey though, especially the silk ones, but you get what you pay for right?

I didn't purchase anything. Do you think there is anything I should go back for??

Help really appreciated - tops are my nemesis. Sorry this post is so long!

Here's my shopping trip in chronological order:

1) Green Sussans top

Basic cotton. $59.95. Lightweight but crushable. Breezy but too voluminous?

2) Black & white striped Cue top

$80. Cotton with a satiny sheen. Felt like a sleeveless top with the coverage of a sleeved top. Would be great for work, not sure if I could wear it casually. Is it too short to wear with pants though? (see pic from behind)

3) Piper olive cotton shirt

Can't remember breeze. Very breezy, casual cotton, maybe a bit crushable. Again, too voluminous though? Would it work with skirts/shorts?

4) Piper black cotton shirt

Same top in black. Casual cotton. Can you believe I don't have a breezy black summery top? Could this be a contender?

5) Ben Sherman "dress"

Definitely a top rather than a dress on me. Sheeny cotton. Love the bird print. Felt very comfy on. Pricey though - $120 or something. Not sure if it's flattering enough to warrant it though.

6) Country road top (fire print)

Silk, about $80. Felt so breezy. I really like it but worry its not long enough (only half covers my butt from side view)

7) Country road snakeprint top

An even breezer silk. Think I really like this one too. Is it too see-through though? You can see the pants waist band a bit.

8) Country road red print top

Cotton and quite see through at that. A bit too sacklike?

9) Yet another silk country road print top (blue)

Like the print a lot, but think its a bit too short. What's with all these great country road tops at the moment? I have never liked this brand before!!!

10) David Lawrence floral print

Silk, $120. I was afraid to try in on in case I loved it and it was the most expensive of the lot. I love the print, but not the fit/cut of the top so much.

11) Country Road silk vest

Not strictly a top but I wanted to try this on as well. Loved it but wouldn't pay $120 for it. Would love to find something similar though.

12) Country Road cardigan

Hard to tell because colours seem off here, but is this red too orange? It's called salsa. Is this cardie cropped enough to wear over dresses? Its very thing material so would be great for summer.
