Late, but FWIW:

I think the lighting is different and affects how well your eyes show up.
#2 is more flattering to your face shape and just becomes more part of you, approachable, so I like it better. I still wonder if it's large enough, or, at least, I would not want it any narrower.
#1 is more owlish and can look like party glasses. That may be what you want, if you want the glasses to be more noticeable as an accessory.

I have two pairs in case I lose or break one. I never used to, but the very first time I actually lost a pair (fell out of my pocket while skiing) I realized a backup pair is non-optional.

Ok, late to the the party but both DH and DS (age 10) we very quick and decisive on #2. Took me a little longer going back and forth but I have to agree with them, #2 just has that edge.

Loved the Seinfeld references!!

They're both very nice on you! My gut preference was for #1. And rather than Harry Potter, I see more Andy Garcia.

I have looked at the pictures several times on my Air and think this is a tough one. Both suit you very well and look like they belong on your face. I think I still prefer #1 though, because this pair seem more effortless. However you can't go wrong either way, they are both good choices.

I like your hair longer like this. More than the glasses even, this cut says "I'm a creative professional."

Without reading any of the other responses, I vote #1.
Just showed pics to DH - he says #1 by a mile!

Well, I've made a decision. I have ordered #2.

It was a very tough decision because I love both of them. But, I was leaning to #2 at the start and they have the practical benefit of being a bit larger (bigger field of view) and more robust. Also, they are unlike anything I've had before.

Thanks very much for all the input. It was super useful and a lot of fun. The different viewpoints had me switching back and forth several times!

And thanks for the compliments about longer hair. Frankly, I was so sick of getting the same haircut every time for a couple of decades that I let it grow without any plan beyond "longer, dammit". It totally has a life of its own, but thankfully on glasses shopping day it behaved a little better than normal. Also thanks to Angie who has nudged me in the direction of having more of a "style" as opposed to chaotic abandon.

Sounds like a great decision - of course I would say that since I voted for #2 - lol!

The specs are ordered. I was pro #2 - but also loved #1. Visually, both pairs of specs are absolutely killer.

#2 won out because they suit Greg's personality better for a multitude of reasons. I LOVE the dried ice effect from the side - which you didn't see. I also had the best view seeing both pairs on in person WITH my specs on. The round bold and chunky specs are AMAZING with Greg's mass of salt and pepper curls, strong brow line, and big blue eyes. I'm very excited. xo

Soooo late to this thread, but what a great choice. Killer specs. Well done!

Yay! Thanks for letting us know the final decision. Look forward to meeting you in September and seeing the new specs in person.

Excellent decision!-)

Didn't get my vote in in time, but it would have been for 2 by a very slight margin. You two are amazing that you can choose such close choices to ulimately pick from. Clearly the result of such artistic points of view. When I am down to two of anything, it's usually, do I get this huge black thing or this tiny white thing?

Enjoy the new specs, Greg!

Great decision! I love #2. So fun to "help" Greg shop.

Glad you chose #2. It had my vote. I just wanted to say that in the second picture, you look a little like a young Kevin Costner. I wonder if that's what swayed me?

I knew you guys would go for #2. Hehe. You are nice people. They look really good. And hey, I did think they had the edge on proportions

Sorry I missed this, but how fun to help Greg shop! I liked both but #2 caught my eye (and DH I had to ask him too) a tiny bit more.

Chaotic abandon. Too funny. I liked both a lot. The darker pair is definitely bolder. Glad it was your decision and not mine. I'd still be on the proverbial fence. LOVE the longer hair too. I meant to say that earlier but was too busy going back and forth on the frames!
