help me choose a necklace? - YouLookFab Forum

I am going to a birthday potluck get together at a friend's house tomorrow. It's relatively casual but, being a girl's night thing I kinda want to wear a dress, just 'cause I can.
I'm deciding between these 3 necklaces. The gunmetal one I like as it goes with the slightly duller grommets of the boots. I like the shinier tassel with the tunic length and simple neckline. Then, I like the Lucky choker for the more rock and roll feel of it. I may wear the multi buckle belt (pic 5), especially if I don the choker. Might keep the self sash if I do the shinier tassel. Which to choose, which to choose?!?
Oh, and I must be getting subliminally inspired by Nicole and Marley and Aida - I painted my nails for the first time in like 10 years. Blue topped by glittery silver. Fun!

i am all for 2 with belt. it adds light to darker dress.

I like #2 but am not sure about the self belt. There is a lot going on with the cold shoulder sleeves. Maybe #5 with the belt and no necklace?

Hmmm, I think the multi buckle belt would be too much with either dangling necklace. I would use the self belt with either #1 or #2. It almost disappears visually with the blouson effect of the dress.

Joy, I hadn't thought of the multi buckle belt in leiu of a necklace. Might have to try that out. It would dress it down and make it a little more funky as well, which might suit the occasion better.

The shiny tassel #2 with self belt. The buckle belt needs a shorter necklace or go for bracelet action instead to show off those nails!

(I finally got home today, had to take a big detour because of 88 being closed! It even snowed here, but has already melted. But it's very cold for April.)

I like the multi belt with the choker! Tassel with self belt is my second choice - yay for girls' night!

Denise, I'm not surprised - I told you it was really snowing over at my house! We had over a foot on the deck this morning. Glad you got home safely, despite having to take a detour. (And my cold shoulder top will be literal, as the high is 43 tomorrow)

I like #1 necklace but really, you can't go wrong with any of them. That dress is just gorgeous on you Mo!

Mo do you feel you have to belt the dress? I can see it worn waist surrender style with the first necklace a d this amazing boots. Otherwise I think both necklaces 1 and 2 compete with the belt so the self belt with necklace 1 would be gorgeous.

Okay, just because of your silver-blue nails, I'm going with #2, which tones with the sparkle and brightness of the tassel. Otherwise, I'd go with #5 as is, or plus choker.

Tassel with the self belt please!

I bat for team minimal, so vote for leaving out the necklace and belting the dress - I know that was not of the options I think you have plenty of interest going on between your long hair, belt and the lace up detail in the boots. Yep, I count hair as an accessory!

If not, I vote necklace #1 without belt.

Thanks for all the input - I ended up going necklace free and adding a bracelet as per Cocolion. Since it was still daytime the tassel seemed a bit much and the multi buckle belt felt better than the self sash belt. I got compliments on the boots both at the gathering and the grocery store before hand Always nice to get a compliment.
