Help Me Accessorize B&W Tweed Coat

Dear Fab Looking Gals,

first time poster, long time lurker here.
I've recently purchased a great winter coat - can't upload a picture now, sorry! It's black and white thick tweed. Unlike other tweed coats I've seen, it doesn't appear gray from a distance.
The thing is, I had been looking for a navy coat until I saw the tweed one. It fits me PERFECTLY and is sufficiently warm. But I have to admit I'm lost if it comes to accessorizing it. What colours should I consider? I should note that I don't wear black and white at all, so I'd like to avoid buying scarf and gloves in one of these colours. I look best in plum, navy, dark teal, burgundy, grey and amaranth. My winter shoes are camel, to add even more confusion
Also, do you consider tweed as pattern? Can't decide whether I could go for a patterned scarf like pashmina or stick to solids.

Any input much appreciated!

I like that fabric with a saddle tan, cognac, mahogany. I would definitely put a pattern
with it if I liked that look (I do). One thing that helps me with deciding what patterns look good with another piece (solid or textural or pattern) is NOT to do any matching when the pattern is at reading distance. Things resolve differently at a greater distance. I like to look at things together from between 6 to 10 feet away. That's how it's mostly seen, anyway and you can tell what tone the pattern gives off. Colors near each other affect how each is seen, too.

Since It's black and white, you can put all your solid scarves near your face for a starter. I have a cream jacket I pair beautiful with my raspberry scarves. Also , complementary I wear a black-and white scarf with my coral-pink trench-coat. In my opinion black and white is very versatile. Another idea is use the scarves that have camel in the print to tie in your shoes.

Small tweed can be practically a neutral (B & W will read as grey). I think almost anything would work with this. I'd also go for a patterned scarf. Use the design rule if you consider tweed a pattern you can mix another but maybe not a geometric, make it more floral or botanical (curvy patterns to contrast the tweed "check")

If you like plum, that sounds like a beautiful color with the coat. And I wouldn't be afraid of patterns, as others have said. The tweed should work as a neutral.

your camel shoes should go perfectly with this coat. consider picking colors or putting together outfits that tie in with the shoe then throw on the coat with a jewel toned scarf or a bright pattern.

I say get accessories in those colors then! Black and white tweed can be the backdrop of any color you want, really. I think camel will look lovely with the black and white! If you want to coordinate with your winter shoes, camel or tan gloves with a colorful scarf would look great. Any bright and clear shade (red, turquoise, etc.) will really pop against the coat versus the darker and muted shades like those you listed above.

If you are calling it a tweed (versus a check or plaid) then I'm assuming the "print" is quite small; if this is the case, it's likely a false plain and you can treat it like a solid.
