Ok guys, this is not good...I'm feeling a powerful urge to buy stuff. Any of it can be justified, but not all of it is an equally good idea. Please help me determine which of these three things is actually worth my notice and what just looks hopelessly misguided:

1. I really could use a pair of booties that isn't black. Finding some that fit my absurdly wide feet is difficult. I was hoping to find a metallic or grey pair and stumbled on these...how do they look?

2. A blazer in a fun colour is so very me. How does this look in blue?

3. I have no clue why this has captured my imagination, but it has. Even though I'm not even sure what colour sable is (white-ish??) Please talk some sense into me:

I'm with Rae - I love that cobalt blue blazer for you Michelle! The colour is so vibrant and would look stunning on you.

The booties are lovely and I've seen those in person. But they just aren't as exciting as that gorgeous blue colour of the blazer.

The sable piece is actually a chocolate brown with gold tones in it. Although it's very pretty it looks like it could be quite bulky. I'm not overly keen on it for you.

Cant talk you out of any of them, sorry! Love the deep, rich looking jacket and booties, especially... are you ok doing that much of a heel? 2.5 inches is ok, for a short time, but not a all-day wear, for me at least....

Oooo these are all wonderful so I'm afraid I'm not much help in choosing. Do you have any wardrobe holes any of these may fill? The sable faux fur jacket is a dark chocolate brown. I do love the fur jacket I bought one in the sale at the end of last winter and wasn't able to wear it till last week I stroked it in the wardrobe all summer!!! It was a joy to wear x

I'm really feeling that blue blazer for you. Gorgeous color! That faux sable jacket is very nice too... But I give a slight edge to the blazer.

I love the blue jacket and the booties. I think the faux fur jacket could look fabulous but I think it could definitely be one of those try before you buy pieces.

The jacket would be extremely versitle.
I am not much help on talking you out of anything because I am in buy mode myself!

Sable = chocolate brown? *nukes it from the list* Thanks, guys, that's actually exceedingly helpful. That wouldn't work in my wardrobe at all. If I'm going to do faux-fur, I'd rather go for black or white for maximum versatility. And that's the purchase that would have been most extravagant, so I actually feel much better now.
The booties are the item I need the most, and the blazer kind of sounds like a slam dunk.
BM: the heel will be a sinch for me, I have no concerns at all on that score.
Oh you guys rule.

I like the vibrant jacket the best for you Michelle. The shooties are a brownish gray; is that the color you really want? I would think a true gray or a bluer gray would go better with your wardrobe, or at least with the blue blazer and your red skinnies!

Yes the booties, while neutral, versatile etc, are not reading "pewter" to me. Donna is correct that if you are looking for cooler tones, these are not that.

I like the jacket best. I wouldn't rule out the bright pink, either, although I know you will look wonderful in the blue. I say this having just come back from a trip where I wore a fuchsia knit blazer almost every day. Much to my surprise, I may add. It just worked with everything.

My sole concern is that the jacket has received a poor review. I am hoping that this person (it's only one) just happened to get a defective one. It is a bit hard to tell how it fits (i.e. is it boxy or is it nipped in at the waist? Hard to say). But trying it on will be the test!

I think this jacket could be good but having tried a similar blazer (it was also VC one button blazer but in a different color and size), I am not sure how I feel about it. It was a bit too long for me and not as flattering or well-made as I had hoped. Of course, the fit might be completely different on you, and I have seen several women on YLF rock the blazer. How easy will it be to return this if it does not fit?

Grey (as opposed to brownish/nude/light neutrals) booties are actually hard to find even in regular sizes - I've had my eye out. There's a pair at Aerosole that are called blue (entorage style) but look cool grey to me, but they don't come in wide.
These ones that Angie picked come in a warm, but true grey, and ecco claims their fit is wider at the toe - not sure if that would work for you. The heel has a kind of cool textured effect to it (which some reviewers say detract from the dressiness).

Had to go back and check out the blazer in pink. I have to second Suz on considering the pink. The pewter booties are awesome - I think they'd be a great addition to your wardrobe.

I agree on the no to the sable. The brown would look beautiful with your hair, but the shape of the jacket... no.

I vote for the blue blazer! It's that cobalt color that is so fantastic on you!

I would pass on both the booties and the faux fur jacket. The booties are a nice shape but the "pewter" color looks very brown to me rather than grey. I would call them dark taupe. Also, the pewter is suede which is less sharp looking, I think.

I have a poisoned eye for fur and faux fur so that's why I don't like the jacket, but you should not take my opinion too seriously because of said poison eye.

Oh, I LOVE the faux fur coat! It is so luxurious looking and refined. You could wear it with slim bottoms tucked into boots for a modern look or go old-school with one of your fab dresses! But I see you've nixed it due to color. This color would be beautiful on you, though! Goes with your hair.

The booties say "pewter" but are actually light brown. Other than that I think they're really nice looking - dressing and versatile.

The jacket is super sassy and cute! I think the blue (a bright, medium cobalt) would probably play the nicest in your closet but I do so love the eye-searing bright pink!

The blue blazer looks like your perfect color. I vote for that one.You can always wear it as an outer coat in spring.

The Cobb Hill boots you're showing in bark are actually more brown too I'm afraid. But they are available in grey which might be more what you're looking for?

And the Bella Vita boots (which are gorgeous!) are an even darker grey. I really like these ones.

I tired on the VC blazer in pink and something about the fit was off. Didn't love it. I remember taking it right off without giving it a second thought.

So I'm voting for faux fur or any of the booties mentioned!

Go for the booties. Especially if you can do high heels like that!

How dressy or casual do you want your booties/shooties to be? The Bella-Vitas are much more casual than the Clarks you originally posted. Do you prefer suede, or is that just what you are finding? I like gray, too, and have a wide foot due to bunions. Sometimes I am able to size up and wear a medium bootie -- but not always.

SoftWalk makes a very rugged bootie called the Dakota sold at both Nordstrom and Zappos and probably other places. The distressed black is closer to a charcoal gray than black. It comes in W and WW. When I bought shooties from this company, I had to size up even in a W.

not much help ...this season and last have had some wonderful stuff that is up my style alley that i have been stocking up.

in your case, you have a new deliciously shrinking bod to outfit. a side benefit of weight loss.
