Does anyone have any ideas for how to fix damage to dark wash denim?

I have a pair of dark wash Paige skyline skinnies that I got to wear for work. After a recent wash, I noticed that the denim got pulled near the inseam on the thigh, leaving the material so stretched that the white threads of the material show through. It looks like a 1" white chalk mark and really stands out. I thought it was laundry detergent residue at first, but it isn't - it's fabric damage due to being pulled, perhaps by the washing machine.

I'm not sure how to disguise it, or if it would be better to take it back to Nordstrom and see if they would replace it. I bought them at full price labout 3 months ago and might still have the receipt. Does anyone have any experience with this? What do you think they might do?
