Help for the handbag impaired

What do you think about these? I currently carry a purple Steve Madden hobo but it's on it's last leg. I don't own any others. (Gasp, I know.) I'm not a bag changer--I use the same one daily. Which would you choose for me?

1: Fossil hobo in red
2: Ted Baker in bronze-ish

I like them all! I think I'd vote for #1 because I don't like a bag with a flap or a buckle that I have to mess with in order to access the contents.

But really, I'm with thimbelina. I was always a one-bag girl until I got one of those purse inserts that you put all your stuff in, and then transfer from bag to bag. Easy peasy, and it is SUCH fun to have a coordinating bag for each outfit!

Don't listen to my vote, as I have NO HANDBAGS! I know, I know. I ride my bike to work many days, so I have a black Timbuktu messenger bag that holds my computer, lunch, shoes, and a small nylon cross-body that holds my wallet/phone/etc that I got from Title 9. I know it's dreadful, but hey, ain't no way I'm biking to work in the snow with a several-hundred-dollar leather bag over my shoulder. But I am thinking that I maybe need at least one handbag, so I'm interested in the outcome of the vote.

But enough about ME. With that lengthy caveat, I prefer #1 : )

Oooh, thanks, peeps! I knew someone would chime in about the openings. I was kind of wondering about the functionality of the buckle/flap doo hickey. The only style that I'm opposed to is the bucket style because it's so hard to find things in and because it becomes a receptacle for all of the things too big and too heavy to fit in DD's adorable, tiny handbags.

@Mary: I dunno about becoming multi bagger. Never say never, but I'm definitely not there. yet.

@sarah: I always pay attention to the bag threads too. I figured I'd spend the sweet moola and invest in a bag more than $30 at some point : ) I had a nylon messenger bag/briefcase for many years myself!

Keep the opinions coming, please. This is a BIG step for me : )

Just want to commisserate on being a one bag kinda gal. Me, too. I will use a clutch or mini crossbody for an evening out but use the same daily bag like you. I just made myself jump into a purple Fossil (Sutter crossbody) a month or so back and love it! But it is now my new 'daily' bag instead of joining the ranks of choices lol. Maybe someday . . .
I like both #1 and #3.

I love the red one - I have a red bag, and it's surprising how well it goes with so many outfits. But I have to admit, I think the other two are gorgeous - although MaryK is right, the flap may well drive you demented (I have a big black bag with the most ENORMOUS flap opening and it's really difficult to manage when you just want to get your money or keys out quickly!).

Ooh the choices I love all of them but if I had to choose just one I would go for the red bag. Can't wait to find out which one you chose!

I really like #1 and #3, is your wardrobe mostly warm toned or cool toned Kelly? this may help your choice.

I vote for RED...but you did mention that your current bag is purple...is that because everything you wear looks great with purple?

I vote #1! I have one bag that I carry daily, a small crossbody. It is red and goes with everything!

Hi - I'm a newly converted multi-bag-lady. I carried a single purse for years, then another single purse for years. All Coach. All black.

Since my YLF epiphany I have bought 2 purses at Nordstrom Rack - 1 is TEAL (brand is Furla) and the other is RED (Hobo brand). I love them both so much. My black Coach bag is jealous.

The teal is a really versatile The only color it doesn't work with is green if it trends to kelly/lime. The red is slightly more limited (for me) - not working with pink and coral.

From the above, I like #1.

Benefit of switching bags? They don't fill up with all the junk in the bottom because you are always emptying them out.

I like the red one, but I don't like the dangly visible branding on it -- is it removable? If so, I vote for that one.

I'm not a fan of any brand-name identification on the outside of bags, though it seems the world at large disagrees with me.

I might just be the only one but I'm in love with the second bag. It has been in and out of my Nordstorm cart more times than I can count.
The Fossil bag in red is wonderful.

I like the red bag for you, it'll go with pretty much everything you wear. That said, I DO think you should get a second bag! I'm not quite on Team Handbag yet, but I do swap between 4ish right now and it's pretty fun. I say red, and then another lighter colored bag (light blue? cream? dove gray? aqua?)

You are all awesome! Thanks for the advice! Right now I'm leaning toward the red fossil. I saw another contender but the drop on the handles is a little short and I'm not sure I'm going to like the crossbody strap. I remembered that I do have a leather crossbody but it hardly functions as a purse because it's so small.
@Rose&Joan: I think I'm cool. I tend to wear blues and blacks the most.
@Barbara: I do currently have purple but I wear it whether it coordinates or not : (
@debbie: The Ted Baker is a gorgeous color. It seems like a good fall bag. I think you should get it!
@Aida: I like the idea of a dove grey! That's a great idea.

Here's the other contender--another fossil. I like the outside pockets.

**Update**

I've decided to order the smaller Fossil red bag. I've been studying the sizes and think the medium size purse would be better for me. (The Fossil hobo is classified as a large.) It has a zipper closure as opposed to the snap--another plus. I'll update with pics as soon as it arrives. I'm going all out. I'm replacing my wallet too : )

I have seen the red Fossil in person; I may have hugged and talked to it (please don't judge! *wink wink*) ... I love the pockets on the sides on the outside; perfect for a cellphone and a lipgloss!

@Kim: Yes, I ordered the second Fossil bag. It looked more manageable. I hate schlepping big bags. Fingers crossed that the second one works.

@Aida: So glad that I ordered the *right* one! I'm so indecisive when it comes to handbags. Still a bit surprised that I managed to hit the "submit order" button!

I ordered this teal wallet too. Couldn't resist the fun colors! It's teal on the outside and merlot on the inside.

I like both fossil bags, the hobo looks like it has a small "armhole" /shoulder strap (and I need to get it over a thick winter coat)... so it's a maybe.
I like the second pocket one too, very classy!!!
