HELP! Does this look OK for dinner with friends?!?

We need to leave soon and I need help, stat!
Dinner with 3 other families at someone's home, lots of kids, pizza, beer---low key.

My hubs isn't crazy about the outfit, ,He thinks it's the necklace. I loved it til he said that.
WDYT?

Love the outfit, too, although I can see why your hubs might not love the necklace. Maybe some actual pearl-colored pearls? Or a pendant?

Love the outfit and the hair, but I would have chosen a brighter necklace if I were you. But I'm South Asian and *love* a shot of bright color!

I love the outfit.
The necklace blends in in color and stands out in size. . . .I think it works.
Other things to consider trying would be a choker necklace in a dark color, a single strand of pearls, or a pendant on a thin chain. . .

Great hair! I think the necklace has a modern via retro feel - it is reminiscent of pearls but edgier because it's not real pearls and the size is bigger. Maybe it's reminding your husband of grandmas or something old-fashioned? I think you could do real pearls or a pendant, which would be an easier, less edgy choice, but if you love this, wear it!

Love it all - but totally get that now that he's said it your mind is poisoned against it. Hope you wore it and got tons of compliments so he could see the error of his ways. Kidding. Necklace will work elsewhere if you didn't wear it with this.

The pearls are a "subtle" touch. Maybe Hubs wanted you to look more dramatic with the jewelry? Mine sometimes thinks I am too subtle also. I love your hair btw and I think you look very lovely.

Thank you SO much everyone! I'm sorry I am just now replying. I ended up wearing the outfit with the beads shown. Ran out of time to change them, but in the end I'm glad I didn't. I really liked them with the gray.

We had a wonderful time and made some great new friends. Unfortunately, I was feeling sick by the time we got home. I went straight to bed and woke up with a sore throat and cough. I caught what the whole family has had. I've been in bed ALL day.

The few times I've walked by a mirror I have to do a double take! I sort of feel like I have on a wig. I've been this color before it's just been a long time.
