Help! Do these bfs work at all?

These are the Angie recommended Kut from the Kloth Catherine boyfriends I just ordered, the new pewter oxfords, and bootcut jeans I already had, for comparison. The shoes are not in question - I love them!

#1-3 larger size Catherines
#4-5 smaller size Catherines
#6 current boot cuts
#7 the shoes - Earthies Treviso in pewter

What do you think? I also received a still larger size of the Catherines. I think they might be too big. Angie seems to think I buy pants too big!

BTW, everything can go back if necessary - I haven't cut any tags.

Also, thanks to Rabbit for telling about the Amazon sale on these shoes. I saved nearly 50 percent.

I think you need to add another "roll" of the bottom cuff.

I like the larger of the BF jeans, but then, I like them a bit oversized.

My concern if you go the next size up is that they will stretch a bit and not stay on

My Kuts did indeed stretch a bit after wearing.

Yes, I think that's my problem with jeans. When I buy them they fit, then later they get much bigger.

So you think I should keep them?

I like Thistle's idea of adding another roll to the jeans. I like my BFs to be baggier so I would suggest trying the next size up -- but just how baggy you are comfortable going is very personal, and I know you have to factor in the stretch-out piece too, especially with Kuts. Since you have the next size up I would try them just for fun. Make sure to belt them -- that's part of what makes the larger BFs work, belt them low so they stay on. (That said, I think the larger size you have pictured here would work just fine. Still, I'd love to see the next size to compare.)

I would also add one more roll to the jeans. I actually prefer the smaller size but I in general tend to like BF jeans not too baggy.

Thank you, Tanya. I now have three sizes pictured. In the first post are the medium sized, the the small size, and just above your post, the large size (which have an extra roll). Of these three sizes, which do you like best?

I think the largest size is too big, because you're getting that slouchy butt thing happening in the back. I like the middle size the best - the ones you posted in 1-3 in your original post. The smallest fit you OK but give less of a bf vibe, imo. I agree with the others that one more roll might look better.

Laura, thank you. Boyfriend jeans are kind of a mystery to me. I can see that they will be good for featuring fun shoes. But I am kind of blind to the way they should fit.

I have a slouchy butt in my BFs haha! I think that is where the personal choice comes in. If you wear a really slouchy BF it gets slouchy in the butt, no question.

I like having all three sizes to compare, so thanks for doing that JAileen!

To me, you need a little more slouch than in the smallest size or they don't really look like BFs; they just seem like straight-leg jeans that are rolled, which is fine ... but to me, you need at least a little give in the thigh area for a BF look.

My vote is for the middle size, which gives you more room but perhaps not too much (especially since we know Kuts do stretch).

They look great on you, by the way, and I am sure you'll have fun with them. Use the extra roll (as you did in the last pair) -- looks great!

Yep, agree they look good with an extra role ... I think the first ones will look great once they've been washed once or twice and look slightly more relaxed Good pick!

I second Viva. I like the middle size the best. And they will get a bit baggier with wear if they are anything like mine

Nice shoes! :^) Rabbit is a good shopper.

I am not a BF expert, but personally, I like BFs to have a straighter cut in the rear and back thigh. The BFs pictured here seem to be more fitted in the rear end. Maybe that is why you are trying the larger sizes, to try to compensate for the more fitted cut? I also feel like the jeans are a little too big around the ankles and would look better slightly tapered. BUT all of this is my personal preference, so go with your gut. :^)

Thank you, viva, torontogirl, and Thistle. I think I have a concensus (along with Laura and Tanya)! And I think I preferred the middle size also. The waist felt too big on the large, and I felt like a sausage in the small.

I think the first pair (medium sized) are the best, and I would love to see them with one more roll for a bit more taper. You are going to really enjoy them. And congratulations on the pewter shoes! I got a pewter belt recently and I have been wearing the heck out of it. Very useful indeed.

I prefer the smaller size (#4 and #5) on the BF jeans, because you tend to wear your jeans too big. Looks fabulous.

First if all, I like the fit and look of the bootcuts on you. Lucky you for being able to wear them well, I find bootcuts to be a nice change and very versatile.
The shoes are fabulous!
Yay to Angie for pulling rank on the smaller BFs! To me, it looked like the bigger sizes just made the bottom part look too roomy. Can't wait to see them styled.

Yes, they do stretch with wear but a quick pop in the dryer will shrink them back down. Enjoy!
