In the last week I have lost two work-worthy tops -- one to staining and one to DD (she's a teacher on a limited income, and I just had to give it to her). Tops are the weakest part of my wardrobe anyway, so I need to replenish. I need work tops that meet the following requirements:
- Will go with navy and black and pinstripe;
- Can be worn with cropped trousers and/or bootcut trousers;
- That I can throw a blazer over but are not too conservative;
- Are interesting without being too edgy.
Any thoughts on the tops in the Finds below?
1. JCrew olive silk with zipper
2. Club Monaco print silk ($$$)
3. COS navy pleated crepe
4. COS grey asymmetrical boxy gathered
Also, I am about to purchase the shoes below. (The Chie Miharas were too small. I seem to be in-between sizes in that brand.) I tried these Louise et Cie oxfords on at Nordstrom today in black patent. They fit great and have a wonderful 1-3/4" heel, but the black patent felt too military/tap shoe. What do you think of the tweed?
ETA: I've also included a picture of a snakeskin patterned black leather, available through VInce Camuto.com as an alternative.
Many thanks.
