Help - To purchase or not to purchase

I am looking to add a jacket that is more trend then classic. My work wardrobe is super class tailored and styled. I want to add some fun pieces into the mix. I don't need to work on the basics with the work wardrobe anymore.

Today my wonderful daughter and I had the best day at Nordstroms evah!! We had some fun trying on clothes. Up for consideration:

Pics 1-4 = EF waxed bomber - most likely to big and would have to try a straight size as opposed to plus. Tried with the white sweater then in pic 4 tried with a black t-shirt. This would strictly be an indoor jacket - I feel it has good fall, early winter, early spring work potential.

Pic 5 - a Angie pic - Black and white bomber jacket - more like a heavy sweater material. I was surprised by the fabrication.

Both jacket styles are completely new silhouettes to my wardrobe

Lastly thoughts on the white sweater how does it look?

I agree with you that the black jacket is too big. I can't really tell about the white sweater from the pics under the jacket. I think the fit on the bomber is good, and the color could be nice on you. It's certainly a trendy silhouette. Do you think it would work with your fall tops?

I really, really like the waxed black moto style jacket on you. I love it with the white sweater and with the darker top underneath. It's definitely worth trying in a different size to get the fit you want. It looks sleek and polished, current, a little edgy. Great piece to add to and mix with a classics-based wardrobe.

The white sweater is a fun silhouette and looks great over your black pants. Love it hanging out from the moto jacket.

The bomber sweater-jacket is also good on you, for a more casual look. I think the shape might be harder to style, because of how it comes in at the bottom. I don't see it pairing as well over shirt-tails hanging out, for example. I would say it's a good sweater alternative; not really a jacket look. Just depends on what you're wanting.

I had my ere on the waxed moto but had not seen IRL ! Definitely try sizing down.
I think the asymmetrical hem of the white sweater could work really well. But, it seems a little big or has more drape than expected-- how does it feel to you?

Yay on the sweater, it's so modern. I love it on you.
Nay on the waxed black jacket, it's shapeless on you. Could be you simply need a different size but the sleeves look too big and the length is not flattering.
Yay on the bomber. I like the lighter colors in it on you. And, I like the fit and length. It ends at a flattering point on you. (I am kind of obsessed with top and jacket lengths overall, as it's a big concern of mine -- short torso, longer legs here -- so pants / jeans are easy to buy, but tops -- a constant challenge. Most of them end at the wrong point on my torso).

Yay/Nay on the black jacket. The look is terrific. However, it does look a bit big in the shoulders. I would try some more styles before buying. But yay for the style direction.
Yay on the Angie pick bomber. It looks cute and versatile, you wear it very well.
NAY for the white sweater. I don't like the cut on you. It just doesn't do you justice IMHO. You have such a lovely figure. This sweater looks out of place, like you are trying too hard in a way. Or maybe if you wore it on its own, with a slouchier, lighter pair of pants...

I'm neutral on the white sweater… it's not super figure flattering, but it is an interesting piece. Also looks a little big on you? I guess I'd vote nay on this one.

Maybe on the sweater...love the shape in theory, but I don't see enough of it to really judge how it would hang
Maybe on the waxed moto. I like the idea and overall shape. i prefer it with the black outfit, but that may just be the hemlines from the white sweater clashing with the bagginees of the shoulder line in this way-too-big for you jacket. Definitely try in a smaller size.

You have all help me so much on figuring this out
1. The white sweater is probably to big for me - I like the concept - being a curvy gal I try not to go baggie. I will most likely have to find a white top with drape like that in a straight size (My forever issue in life - my bottom is a plus size and my top is a straight size - try buying a suit with that combo) and as krishnidouxn stated i probably am trying to hard with the sweater.

2. The waxed bomber is way to big as suggested - and well now I have my eye on a brown leather one. So I am going to be spending my time playing around with trying different silhouettes and trying different colors to find the perfect one.

3. The Bomber jacket it is - I did think to myself that looked great. It would pair wonderfully with many things in my wardrobe. I could make a whole capsule just around that jacket.

Really glad you are going to keep the bomber. It is great on you.

I'm iffy on the sweater -- not sure I can see enough of it to judge but I suspect the size is off.

And the black jacket doesn't seem to fit properly.

I love that top - That is what I'm looking for something with nice drape but not to big.

There's also the Pleione one that is an Angie pick. It comes in lots of colours. Not a sweater, however. But could be a good addition in itself.

I agree, the bomber is a great fit. It also looks cosy!

I think the white top is the right concept but something about the fit is off, there will be something similar that is better.

I am not sure on the waxed jacket.

I think the black tee and black trousers with the light jacket is a great look on you - I also wear this column of colour often and like it because I am short waisted and it is flattering. I certainly don't always do this but it is a great fallback option.

The EF and the white sweater are too big. Sometimes tops can be tricky but you will find what you are looking for.
