Helmut Lang Look A Like! + Update

Happy Monday Fabbers,

Heading into a teleconference at work but it's all about priorities right?? So I needed to take a moment to show you this.

I tried this on yesterday and am very strongly considering going back for it. I am looking at the jacket in black but posted the lighter colour so you can see detail.

I have been besotted with the HL Vilous Sweatshirt Jacket and came across this one by Piper at Myer yesterday. Came home and compared the online pics. The Piper one is a very budget friendly $70.00 and the fabric quality feels good and substantial. The jacket isn't flimsy at all. Nice fit and the fabric fall well, and it's warm.

They will have to order the black for me as they only have the grey in store but I think it might be worth it.

Update: 17/6/14 Well I was reminded today why I don't often shop at Myer. The customer service is so erratic. Went down to try on the grey one again because I couldn't remember what size I tried on Sunday past. The sales assistant could not have been less interested and proceeded to tell me which stores (over 2 hours away have the black one) and that I would have to order it myself and pay the shipping because they haven't done interstore transfers for as long as she has worked there. Postage isn't huge but I was hoping to save on it. Yet on Sunday I received the most attentive customer service from a two sales people. Puts me off and now I don't 'feel' like buying it lol.

It's probably better than the HL. Because I looked at the HL a while ago and if I remember correctly it's dry clean. Seriously!?!? A dry clean sweatshirt. I couldn't stomach it.

Thanks lovely ladies. Will pop in tomorrow and retry the grey one because I cannot recall which size i tried. It fitted perfectly. I can then get them to order me in a black one.

Lyn, I think it will go with everything lol. IRL is has a dressy look even though it's a more casual fabrication. Im thinking it will be great for my non work days but can see it creeping into the office too.

Deborah - I have the villous sweatshirt in black. Cozy and has a lovely neckline. Almost a dead ringer - hey it's a sweatshirt, a gorgeous one, but a sweatshirt. I definitely think you've made the right choice. Parsley manages to take her's dressy, I have not managed that, but as a toss on for jeans or casual pants it's great!! Also the HL is an off black, if yours is a true black I think it will be a lot more versatile!!

Gryffin, I thought you had the HL one:). I really like the idea of garments that you can throw on over something really casual and voila, you look "dressed". That's the appeal of this piece.
