Helmut drapey dress at Nordstrom (for you, Suz) What do we think?

I stumbled across this drapey dress (available for pre-order and relatively affordable) at Nordstrom and thought of Suz and her desire for something arty and drapey.

What do you think? I'm kinda liking it.

Nancy - you are so sweet to think of me.

I think this MIGHT work well on you.

On me, it would be a total disaster.

In my long thread from yesterday I determined that too much drape is never going to work for me. The pieces I picked yesterday were too "romantic" and "round" in shape to work. I've determined once and for all that I need more structure.

In this case, the overall looseness, plus the V neck, would totally overwhelm me. Sad to say...

Sorry I missed weighing in on your thread, Suz. By the time I found it there were so many responses I decided not to pile on! As a result, I missed out on your conclusions about needing structure.

I'll keep my eyes open for you, though. I totally get your desire for something more arty/architectural since I'm feeling the same directional pull.

I did pre-order this Helmut dress just out of curiosity. It might be a disaster, or it might be fabulous! We'll see...

I like it, but I think we've determined that what works for me is not going to work for Suz....

I am considering ordering this similar (and cheaper) dress from AT - wish I could find it in a store to try on:

Those are both beautiful, Diana and Nancy. I particularly like the AT one because it would look really great with a striped T underneath.
