I am 5'4.75 and 110-112 lbs. My measurements are 32C - 25- 34.5/35

Hmmm, inverted triangle. That is a new one I've heard. Even if my shoulder-to-shoulder is 18 inches? Based on the article's description, I don't see how my measurements fit into the inverted triangle realm. Very interesting though.

Body type isn't determined by measurements. It's just something you need to eyeball.

You have a strong, straight shoulder line and your hips are very slim, hence IT.

i actually disagree with Maya (sorry Maya), body type is 100% determined by measurements.

i'm a professional fashion stylist here in NYC and this is one of the major things i see women struggle with... not knowing their body shape and then not knowing how to dress for you body shape.

I only needed to look at the first photo and immediately thought inverted triangle. You also have hourglass tendencies since you have a small waist, but (at least in these photos) your shoulders seem broader than your hips and chest.

(Oh, and your arms are amazing. I am so jealous!)

Another vote for inverted triangle with hourglass tendencies.

Elsa, you have a very interesting approach to body types. I'm curious how Angelina Jolie, Naomi Campbell, Cameron Diaz, Halle Berry, and Jennifer Lopez fit with the more traditional set of body types.

Sorry Elsa, we'll have to agree to disagree. Body typing is an art and not a science. My shoulders measure wider than my hips and bust but to call me broad shouldered would be hysterical. I have the softest, narrowest shoulders of virtually anyone I know. I am sometimes unable to fill out the shoulders in even the smallest size available.

Kate, i simply use those 5 celebrities as representation of the 5 common body types:

Angelina Jolie = Apple
Cameron Diaz = Rectangle
Halle Berry = Hourglass
Jennifer Lopez = Pear
Naomi Campbell = Inverted Triangle

Oh, and I made a mistake on my height
I am 5'3.75 and 110-112 lbs.

My new measurements are now 32C - 24- 34

Why in the world do I keep losing my hips? I used to have 37 in hips, then 36, then 35 and so on.

I've maintained the same weight for 18 yrs (since I was 15 yrs old, before 15, I weighed even less), but my measurements keep shifting. I want my hips back

So hard to gain weight...the grass isn't always greener ladies.

Elsa, just used your calculator, I am "Sexy Naomi Campbell" - that is on par with the IT shape everyone else mentioned.
