It’s been a while! I started my faculty job (busy) and bought an adorable little house and fashion dropped off my priority list for quite a few months. But once again it’s fall and shops are full of things I like.
Jeans styles have changed and I’m excited. I’ve been procrastinating on hemming some jeans because I can’t decide whether I’m ready for full length - or more likely, just hitting the ankle bone, which seems to be the current trend. My short legs mean that even the most cropped pants are full length on me.
Here are a few I’ve bought and need to decide on hemming:
1. Banana Republic straight jeans. My first BR jeans and an instant workhorse. They’re meant to be more cropped but I actually think this length works. Good with flats and doc martens, but not quite right for oxfords.
2. Uniqlo straight jeans. They’re bigger than I realized (I went down two sizes) but I love them. I think they should be cropped though?
3. Madewell wide leg cropped. Another instant workhorse bought several months ago. I was going to hem them but I think this length is very current.
And some whose tags I haven’t cut yet:
1. Everlane lightweight straight leg crop. I think these are great but they’re not quite my usual style in some subtle way. Here they’re full length and also folded up to show a cropped length option.
2. Everlane cropped bootcut. I’m not in love with them.
3. Uniqlo U curved wide leg trousers. I think I’m returning these.
Thoughts on lengths are appreciated for all of these!
