Apparently I pronate/shuffle my feet such that I wear down the inside heel of my shoe every 3 months. I resoled my beautiful red Fluevog malibrans in July and I wore through one edge of the heel pad by September. I wasn't even walking far in them - just back and forth to work at my cubicle job.
The store is doing the right thing and has agreed to resole them for me this one time, but I'll probably just wear through them again in another few months. I notice the same wear pattern on some of my other shoes, but the heels are made of harder material so I can at least go a year in between trips to the cobbler.
Does anyone else have a similar problem? Anyone have any experience with heel taps and can you use them on rubber soles? How do they work? Are there any other options available to me?
I'm reluctant to try using orthotics because I'm a runner and no matter how weird my gait is, I'm running pain free and I don't want to mess with that.
Thanks!
