I'm going to join in (even though I'm a bit late), because I could use some accountability and cheerleading.
My fight against my weight hasn't been all that great over the past few months, and I'm pretty frustrated. I've decided to start down the road of the paleo diet. I've done it for a little bit at a time in the past, and have really liked it. I'm definitely a 'meat and veggies' girl for losing weight, as opposed to someone who responds well to the low fat approach. I struggle with it a bit, because I'm on a student budget, and meat is more expensive than veggies around where I am. I could do a chickpea curry for a fraction of the cost of a chicken breast and broccoli. That, and I'm enough of an environmentalist to appreciate the costs of factory farming (both to the environment and the animals themselves).
In the end, though, my body doesn't do well on carbs and sugar. So, I guess the best I can do is say 'I'm making these decisions with my eyes open'. Wish me luck!
