Headband advice?

What are your thoughts on women in the midlife age group wearing headbands. I am seeing them all over the web but not many in my area. What about you?

I wear them a lot, just to keep my hair off of my face, but I don't think it's the most flattering look on me.

It depends on the headband and setting. I can see a simple headband looking very nice but too much sparkle or bling would kill it for me.

No lace or frills or anything too girly either; I think they are useful at the gym.

I use them only when my hair is up to keep the bangs back.

My stepmom wears them beautifully in a coifed 'do. She has course hair that stays where she puts it with a bit of spray. My hair, on the other hand is thick but very fine, so headbands just shift around and do more harm than good.

I think it would totally depend on the execution. Could be great, could be horrid.

I wear a headband in the cold when I am running (to cover my ears).

I really haven't seen anyone beside myself wearing a headband in ages, but I think they can look good. It's just a question of how it's worn.

I'm 46 and I wear scarves as headbands all the time. I love the look and I am often complimented on them. OTOH, I don't wear the plastic shiny dealies you see for $2 in stores.
