When I saw this photo of Garance Dore on the Zara site, I totally fell in love with it. I have the boots.... so I thought I'd order the rest of it, just to see. Was pretty sure it would be a bust on me, as I was pretty sure the sweater wouldn't be a great coolour on me (although I do love it) and that the skirt would be too short. But I was placing a Zara order anyway, so figured why not.
So here's some fun.
1. My inspiration,
2. Me.
3. Me from the front. This sweater is so cozy, I want to love it. But this is not my best neckline, and it's not my best red. I also think the cut of it perhaps just makes me look big, rather than looking oversized. I could try it in navy, if you think that's worthwhile. I'm leaning towards "R", and will look for another oversized cashmere sweater that is more "perfect". What do you think? I also LOVE this skirt - it had a wonderful texture to it, I think the fringe adds a really interesting edge, however it needs to be 2-3" longer. Bummer.
I also ordered the pleather culottes. I thougth these would be fun, a "wildcard" item, certainly not a "need" for me. Here are a few photos, and styling ideas. I haven't had time to do a lot of playing, unfortunately. Any hope? I did get some opinions from a friend, and she didn't really like them on me - felt they were too bulky. If you feel they are a yes, I'd love some styling suggestions, and I will try to find more time to play today.
Honest opinions please! On the cullotes, and the sweater. The skirt is definitely going back, I just can't wear something this short.
ETA: A few more culotte styling pics added later on.
