How about an old perfect product that I recently discovered was still being made, even if I couldn't find it in stores anymore? These Rubiglo lash combs are better than any I've ever found, super compact and only $3. Mine was wearing out after...too long to confess. Let's just say that in a cost per use calculation, at this point I think they are paying me to use it. The lash comb works perfectly to separate your lashes. I think the secret is how long and thin the tines are. I stocked up big time from the company website.
ETA: Aida, mine is more than ten years old...wait, no...miscalculation. More than twenty years old. I use it often, but not everyday. I clean it, of course. I really only broke down and bought a new one because I wanted an extra for my travel kit. I think that since you have to cap it, it really protects it.
(And <whispering:> in desperation, I use a pin, so no judging here!)
