Have been having all sorts of wardrobe disasters lately (updated)

Some kind of bad luck must be following me lately, as the following has happened to me in the past two weeks:
1. The watch strap on my white MK watch got broken. It is very difficult to find that particular type ( I have replaced it once before) and I do not know if I will be able to replace it.
2. A big rip in my white tuxedo blouse - had to toss it (luckily it is old)
3. A similar rip in my cream silk safari shirt - sort of along the seam in the middle of the back - so it might be reparable
4. Zipper broke on my favorite black leather bag - this is something I already had fixed once in the past
5. This happened just yesterday - strap broke on my second pewter Marc Jacobs watch too. This might be reparable. (these are the only two watches I have).
6. Also happened yesterday: my Gucci sunglasses (the only nice pair I have) suffered a break in the part that connects the side to the front. Not sure if it is fixable

Sorry for the venting, just bummed out quite a bit. Has anything similar happened to anyone here?

My friend gave me a necklace that a friend of hers made. The chain broke after like 3 wears, so I sent it back to her. She had it fixed and I finally got it back after like 2 months. It broke the second time I went to put it on. Then, I went to put on another necklace that I've had for like 5 years, and that one broke too!

Wow...that's tough. I just had a necklace break. Hubs took it to the jewelers but i'm not holding out hope.

What a bummer! The worst I've had lately is a top I had just gotten back from the dry cleaner which I immediately stained on first wearing...

Oh no - I HATE it when that happens, particularly when they all seem to happen at once.

My mishaps are almost always my fault, caused by me either spilling something on myself or bumping into something and snagging the item I'm wearing. I'm very clumsy.

The worst was a few years ago when I managed to upend an entire can of V-8 juice on myself at work, and of course I had to be wearing light grey dress pants! There was no way to salvage or hide it, so I ducked out to Marshall's for an early lunch to buy an emergency replacement. It was not my finest hour, and it also wasn't the first time that I had spilled a nearly-full V-8 juice can on myself in the office.

Wow. That really is a string of mishaps!! What a shame.

I don't think I've ever had that many in quick succession.

This happens always with underwear items because I buy them in a batch and then they fail all at the same time. It's like metal fatigue, I suppose, rather than Jungian coincidence. I also find all my glassware cracks, chips, shatters and drops to the floor of its own accord at the same time.

Oh no! I can relate. So your venting now makes *me* feel like venting!

A top I got from Zara, upon the second wearing, it ripped at a non-seam place. I contacted Zara but they never responded. (!)

Tanya, my watch straps are always leather and they do wear out. Rather than looking for a perfect replacement, I just get a similar one from my watch dealer. I really have not been unhappy with this approach. One watch of mine is a Timex (no big deal). The other is a Michael Kors (bigger deal), but the strap I got is close enough to preserve the vibe of the original.

Anyways, I hope every thing works out for you!

Oh gosh, sorry to hear about the wardrobe issues. Hoping your dark cloud passes over soon. I am a mess with white shirts. I usually only get 1 or 2 wear before I stain them beyond being able to wash out the stain.

I've had a few of these this week too, although you've kind of got a streak going! Maybe start another streak --- like eating an apple every day, or taking a bubble bath every night!

This is why we all need a household staff. You know, "Jeeves, please send my bag out for repair!"

Okay. New week and NO MORE wardrobe disasters.

Thank you all very much for your understanding. So far no more disasters, but not much improvement on fixing these.

1. The white Michael Kors watch: I bought it from Nordies, but they couldn't find me a replacement strap or do anything about it. They sent me directly to Michael Kors company, which didn't have a back up either! I am quite mad. Apparently it is some super special strap shape and it can not be found anywhere. A local watch repair man says he could try cutting a regular white leather strap but it might not look very finished.
3. The rip in the cream safari silk shirt got stitched, but it is visible. I designated it for wearing under sweaters/jackets only and a bought a very similar looking replacement.
4. Haven't had time to try and do anything about the bag.
5. So far the Marc Jacobs watch is the only success: it turned out the strap just fell out of a some snappy place so the repairman was able to very simply put it back.
6. Gucci sunglasses: my biggest disappointment so far. Apparently all that happened is that I lost a screw that holds the side to the front. However, you guessed, it is a very special screw that nobody has. There are a couple of more repair places I could try but I do not have high hopes - some of the places I have been to are afraid to try anything because of the brand - apparently they do not want to take a risk. Urgh...

Thank you for letting me vent. This is all most annoying.

We are having a similar 'luck" with computers this week: 3 computers stopped working!
Must be something in the air lately...:-(
