I'm considering these 3 outfits (each with 2 different shoes). What do you think? Or should I start from scratch?

I like #3 the best, I love the sparkly shirt, but I'm also partial to seperates when I have to do things like cook and serve food to people. I do like the nude shoes with #2, but I'm not sure about either shoe for #3. Would you be able to do the strappy shoe from #1 with #3?

The first photo is missing.

I am no expert on cocktail parties, so take what I say with a pound or two of salt. The dress is very nice, but doesn't seem to be quite glitzy enough. It could easily be worn to the office. The sequin top has the glitz for sure, but the pants seem to dress it down too much to my eye. Do you have any black, wide-leg pants, preferably in something a bit flowy? Or perhaps a pencil skirt.

I can't comment on shoes. My tastes are too narrow. :o(

Well, the first photo was missing before. Back now. It's a lovely outfit per se (as is the dress in #2), but again, perhaps not quite glitzy enough. I do like the idea of combining the strappy shoes in #1 with the outfit in #3.

Sparkly top! If you have a black skirt to go with it that would be great, but otherwise the pants. Not sure about the footwear. That is always difficult.

I do have a black pencil skirt...but it's slightly too big and a knit fabric. Would that be better than the black skinny jeans?

Number 3 in my opinion. I would love to see it with the skirt but feel it is fine with the pants. Have fun!

I tend to do black bottoms, edgy or special shoes and something special on top for cocktail parties, I really appreciate "special, edgy" but totally functional (the right pants read more edgy and special to me than a knit skirt) in the kind of cocktail parties we attend. But you know your crowd better than I. I vote for the sparkly blue blouse, black pants and edgy black shoes...FWIW

For a future event or even office workday, I think outift #1 would also look great with the nude shoes. I love the black belt over white shirt.

I see you chose #3 already -- I like it with those heels (funky!) and the black jeans work just fine to my eye.

#2 is a very flattering dress; love it with the nude shoes! It could be made cocktail-ready with the addition of a bright red clutch, something with sparkles, perhaps.

Oooh I like that you picked #3 for the cocktail party, but #2 with the nude shoes is so pretty and makes your legs look miles long. I hope you wear that to work soon!

I'm a sucker for patent leather shoes so #3 is perfect in my opinion. Black shoes and black pants can be a bit boring in my opinion. More for the workplace. #3 has just the right pizzazz. Have fun!

Yes, #3 and definitely with those shoes. I think a bright contrasting clutch, and a bracelet or cocktail ring and you are good to go.

Agree with the general consensus - I like number three for a cocktail party. I find the shoe question more difficult. A few weeks ago I would have said the black pair,no question. But I actually like the nude shoes...perhaps the veterans could correct me, but isn't that book ending your hair?

I wore #3 with the black sandals. (they're more comfy for standing than the nude pumps). I was comfortable and looking fab all night. The party didn't end until 4am so comfort WAS a factor.
