What are everyone's views on wearing hats during the day? I don't mean beanies in cold places - I mean a part of an outfit.

I have to cover my hair at work, so have perpetual "hat-head" when I leave work. I thought one solution might be to wear a hat to and from work, but it's such an uncommon look these days (especially in a place as warm as Queensland).

Is it all about attitude?

I saw a celebrity wearing a Fedora that was the same color as her jacket, or top, and it looked so pulled together. Unfortunately we can't all have a cloest full of different color Fedora's. Maybe we could change the decorative piece on it to match our tops though, if desired.
The straw Fedora's look great in the summer.

Sharon I think it sounds like a perfect solution for you. I've not worn them as regular day to day parts of outfits before but I have always wanted to because I think they really do finish certain outfits.

I'm actually looking at one of these for this winter - not sure what colour and would definitely wear it with the brim down cloche-style rather than turned up at all - I feel the cold and think it would be great... Its not even as cold up here as it is for you but I still think its completely doable.

Must admit though, I'm more a fan of hats in winter than summer even though us Qld'ers really should wear them all year round.

I have quite a "race hat" collection and adore hats though!

I think this is a clever solution. I was wearing a straw sun hat just last weekend around the city. Lots of people wear straw hats at the moment.

I love hats. I'm itching for a straw fedora myself. I also have some nice floppy brimmed hats that are great. They're a totally different look. For winter, I've got beanies, berets, felted cloches. Hats may be one of my favorite accessories.

and a straw cowboy hat. I've always loved hats but never had the confidence to wear pre YLF. I don't wear them all the time but I do love them especially when the weather is hot funny I always wear hats in winter but that's just to keep my head warm sorry I'm rambling! I say give it a go x

I do think part of it's about attitude. I don't really see many people in my little town wearing hats as part of their outfit - with the exception of some boys and their baseball caps. Occasionally one of my jr high girls will, but it's very rare. All that said, I have a fedora that I've been wearing as an accessory. I think it adds style myself. Edited: I have had a few comments regarding the hat, that's where I think my positive attitude comes in.
