I just mentioned in LJP’s jean’s thread that last night I put on one lingering pair of skinny jeans and pulled on a pair of tall boots over them… and I hated it. I used to wear this! But now it just feels and looks wrong for me.

For now I think I’ll continue to hang onto my Peruvian Connection moto jeans which are skinny, but the skinnies I put on last night are now down in my holding zone, but might go into the bag of stuff I have for a big clothing swap next weekend.

But it also begged the issue: what about all the tall boots I’ve held onto?? I have five pairs, most of which are at least 8 years old. The first pair is more recent and I love those. I know they can be worn with skirts and dresses, but I rarely bother with those in winter.

I’m thinking it’s time to let go of the burgundy ones and the lace-up ones (supposed to be OTK but on me they just reach the knee). Probably the tan ones too. I would keep the Aquatalias and the Stuart Weitzmans to wear with skirts since these are the ones I find most versatile and classic.

Is anyone else reevaluating the role of tall boots in their wardrobe? Are you over skinnies like I am (even though they are supposedly coming back, I’m not bothered by that)? I welcome your thoughts!
