Has your skincare/makeup regimen changed?

Hi fabbers! With more of us WFH, staying home, video conferencing, or just wandering around outside, I am curious to know if you are putting more or less effort into your makeup and skincare routine these days?

I find that I am caring less about what I am wearing and MORE about my skin. I make even more effort to wash and moisturize every night, and have been slowly wearing and editing my makeup collection. I bought a cream blush after dropping and breaking my powder one and I put it on daily, after my morning shower and sunscreen. It's like my war paint

What about you? How is your skincare or makeup routine changing under lockdown?

Definitely less! Makeup was my war paint and I never thought the day would come when I didn't wear make up--even just a little bit. I don't even bother when I'm at home and most of the time don't even put any on for our team video meetings. (I do use the "make me pretty" feature on Zoom although i don't think it makes much of a difference--haha.) I'll put eyeliner on if I go to the store since the mask covers everything else, I don't bother with much else. I can definitely see this becoming my new norm! You're going to come out of this with luminous skin for sure! Great idea to edit the make up drawer--I'll add that to my list.

I'm having some increased sensitivity of my eyes - some irritation and itchiness that starts over almost nothing. Because of that my make up is pretty much absent now - sunblock lotion, eyebrow pencil, some loose powder and that's it. Lipgloss is a must until the mask wearing will become a mandatory order .

No change- except no lipstick, due to mask wearing. Poor neglected lipsticks
Also, drop earrings and masks don't work. Studs only now. Poor neglected earrings
Eta- I do wear lipstick when hiking and biking since no mask required!

I am doing my usual morning skincare routine but only put on dog walking lipstick. (lipstick I want to use up). If I feel really bored I will put on eye makeup. But, really the last time I did that was two weeks ago.

My skin care is the same.

For makeup I'm doing a bit less. Skipping primer and tinted moisturizer. No eyeliner or eye shadow. Generally.....

Concealer where needed. Hourglass brow volumizing fibre gel, mascara (navy blue or royal blue), blush, lipstick and some highlighter on my cheekbone and inside corner of eyes.

I have done some no makeup days but I find it perks me up when I do wear some.

What makeup?! I wore it one day and it got all over my mask. My routine is clean skin, plenty of moisturizer, chapstick and sunscreen. Everything has been pared down to a bare minimum. I miss my makeup table!

I don't usually wear makeup anyway except for special occasions, but I'm finding I have more time to prioritise skincare consistently whilst WFH. Another unexpected side effect is that I also find myself experimenting more with my makeup. I take lipstick off before wearing a mask (lesson learned the hard way lol) but I did try eyeshadow the other day (thankfully my webcam is low quality enough to get away with modelling my experiments whilst videoconferencing haha!)

This development is probably for the best, since I wear makeup so rarely that my makeup collection is long overdue for an update

Not wearing much makeup, but some days I do put on eye shadow, blush, and lipstick. I think it does make a difference as far as how I look on screen. Nice thing about not wearing makeup, or not much, is that I don't have to take it off.

This last week I have forgotten to put on sunscreen though--not a good idea for me.

I do wash my hair as often--every other day normally. I don't care if no one sees me--I don't feel good when my hair gets stringy, which it does more quickly as it gets longer and untrimmed.

Week one of SAH I cleaned out my make-up collection - but haven’t replenished. I broke out with dermatitis at the start of all this (nerves?) and am only just now wrestling it under control. Too tender for anything but gentle washing, gentle moisturizers, and medicated stuff.

Weekly no polish manis and lots of hand lotion and more hair conditioning going on. Will do pedi with polish once things warm up.

I just bought a gift certificate from my aesthetician. When she is able to see clients again, I’m going in for an overhaul!

This is one thing that makes me feel good , so I'm still into it. I've used up/run out of a few things over the past month, so I'm having fun dipping into my samples/travel sizes stash and using new and different products. This goes for both makeup and skincare/bodycare. I don't feel great without the definition and polish makeup gives, plus I like to look as nice as I can for the people who live with me and have to see me everyday all day I don't expect anything to change when work life resumes - I'll still be doing my skin care and makeup routine as usual !

Always wash and iron my hair ready for the zoom camera and all that joy about WFH.

Yes I wear make up. Not as much maybe.

Very similar to you Nemosmom, I am finding it hard to get motivated to get dressed beyond leggings and practical clothing; on the other hand, I've been taking extra care with my skin care, moisturizing, exfoliating, hair conditioning, and hand care. My nails are a disaster despite my best efforts, so I definitely am hoping that things are open for my summer birthday and I can splurge on a spa manicure as my prezzie!

I am still doing the same hair and skincare routine. My skin seems drier than normal. It could be the extremely long winter that is causing this. I rarely wear make-up on a daily basis.

Same old, same old. I do seem to be going through more hand lotion than ever. The rest of my skin is actually less dry than usual, so I guess my home's air quality is better than my workplace and my car! Perhaps the extra outside time/vitamin D is providing some benefit too.

High five, suntiger! I'm missing my lipstick these days. Doesn't pair well with masks. Otherwise my skin care and makeup are pretty much the same.

Since I'm still working yet bot happy about it, my makeup has definitely gotten darker. Black eyeliner, dark brown eyeshadows, black mascara. I really liked my job until the coronapocalypse happened, but now I don't like the risks to my health and I don't like having to deal with the public, but I need the income so i keep showing up.

My skincare routine has changed in that it actually exists now. I moisturize like nobody's business these days, especially my face. One day out of the blue I put some o'Keefe's body lotion on my face and it was as if the heavens opened up and the angels sang a divine chorus; in that moment, I got it and decided that I was now going to take better care of the skin on my face. I don't sleep in my makeup as much anymore since that epiphany.

I am wearing less makeup but my skincare is the same. I have been doing the odd face mask as well. I don't like the skincare products that I am currently using but my skin looks okay.

I really minimised my makeup about a year ago because I realised that worked best for me. I have run out of one or two in the last month so will replace them and I am thinking of adding a red lipstick and a red lipliner (I only have a soft red lipbalm). Might ask the forum for recommendations!!

My eyes have been feeling irritated lately (allergies?) plus I am lazy so I have started to skip the shadow and eye liner. When those go so does the eyebrow pencil. But after nine months of Revitalash’s RevitaBrow, my brows are in pretty good shape. I will probably put on my regular makeup for a ZOOM meeting tomorrow and maybe for a trip to Safeway on Thursday morning. Truth be told, what with my thick glasses I am not sure anyone could see a difference.

I've completely fallen off the rails. Like Kellygirl, makeup is my war paint. So I'm sticking with my usual wash and moisturize routine, but makeup is only happening if I'm pretty sure I'll be on camera for a zoom. And even then, I'm going for a fast 5 minute face.

I did break down this weekend and pull my makeup and jewelry out of my travel kit. I figure it'll be at while before any overnight trips, might as well use up what I have.

My makeup and skin routines are pretty much the same. I always tried to wear a bit of makeup when I would teach piano lessons, and now that they're remote, I actually probably put a little more on because I tend to look washed out on video.

I've always been pretty good with my skincare routine, so that remains the same. But I have been trying to do a mask once a week to pamper myself.

I think my routines have gotten a bit more complex as I have more time. I started painting my nails! (I think the last time was about 40 years ago). I am bad but my second attempt was an improvement. I am doing my usual skincare with less lazy days. I started trying a lot of lipsticks but then mask wearing made that ridiculous. I am working on getting better with my eyes. I always wear sunscreen and cc cream no matter what. My hair. Well that is a whole new ball game.

Since I've been WFH, I have switched from wearing foundation and blush to tinted moisturizer and liquid bronzer. With the coming of spring, I have switched out my neutral and brick/copper lip color for a brighter warmer orange/coral shade. I have a pretty effective skincare routine which hasn't changed much and I'm happy with how my skin looks.

I have not changed my hair or make up routines. I have watched a few make up videos and on the weekend tried some of the contouring tricks with my bronzer, but really need a contouring kit as I could not see any difference to my usual make up. We are not wearing masks (only 4 covid cases reported in Australia today and zero in my state), so I am still wearing bright lipstick.

My hair is benefitting from lockdown as I have been using a strengthening hair mask on it prior to washing and lots of deep conditioning treatments. I am using hand cream, but it is not making up for all the hand washing and my skin feels dry.

Thanks everyone for your comments! I too feel like my skin is lacking moisture - not just my ragged hands, but everywhere. I had a weird flare up of some sort (stress??) last month and finally got that to calm down. My makeup has always been minimal (light concealer, mascara, liner, lippie only when I remember to apply it), but this latest obsession with face washing and moisture feels new.
