Has anyone tried the WHBM Rose Jacquard pants?

Has anyone happened to try these on? I thought they would be perfect for the season, and they can go casual or dressy, but the fit just wasn't working on me. I tried several sizes and found them either too tight on the waist or too loose in the leg. But perhaps I was being too critical Unfortunately I did not snap a photo, but the leg was not hanging smoothly on me. It's been a long time since I wore a pant like this.

I love them too, Scarlet (haven't tried them, so can't help with that, sorry), and am sorry to hear they aren't working for you. They would be an excellent option for the party season indeed.

I've ordered them in a petite size, which aren't available in stores, and they should arrive early next week. Hopefully I won't have the same fit issues because they look like they will be holiday workhorses for my predominantly casual (and fortunately non-overlapping attendee) events. Just the right amount of dressy and festive, and I can vary up the shoes, I have at least two pumps and two booties that should work.

I tried them on. In the non-curvy fit. YES. They run roomier on the thighs and tighter on the waist. Makes sense that you battled with them, Scarlet. You need the opposite: wider on the waist and slimmer on the leg.

Toban, I hope they work out for you. I have a hard time fitting dress pants for the reasons Angie mentions, so hopefully your needs are different from mine. I'd be interested to hear/see if they do work out.

Kind of funny, my husband, who doesn't pay much attention to clothes, really liked the fabric. I almost considered getting a bigger size and having the leg taken in, but I had doubts that it would ever be quite right. Since other casual pants have worked well for me from WHBM I had high hopes. Alas.

I purchased their holiday brocade pants 2 years ago in a snug-to-me size, and after one short wearing they stretched out so much I could almost pull them off buttoned and zipped! Fourtunately, they took them back.

These arrived on Monday and I tried them with a variety of tops today. I love the print and they work incredibly well with existing tops and shoes, so I am all set for the holiday season.

The petite fit was good on me, but agree that the waist is snug fitting. I like how it has a wide waist band and sits at natural waist vs high waist. I don’t tuck tops so the snug waist is fine, but I would need more ease in the waist if I planned on tucking tops.

Toban, thanks for letting us know. I am glad they worked out for you. In the mean time I reordered in the short size instead of petite because the waist should be a little more generous. I am not really expecting it to work, but it is worth it to me to try. I plan to wear them in the house to see if the fabric stretches at all with wear, as Murph experienced previously. They would be great for social occasions and work.

Wish I had seen this thread before I went to the mall today. I couldn't get them to work in any size for the same reason.

I ordered these in three curvy fit sizes, my usual plus one bigger and one smaller. The difference between my waist/hip measurements is about 9” but my thighs are thick. Usually curvy fit works for me but not this time. The waist fit great but the the thighs were baggy and there was extra fabric in the crotch area. I was going to return but based on Angie’s comment I will check out the straighter cut available in store. The fabric is stretchy and feels like it might stretch out. If the straight cut is a better fit, I will take the stretch factor into consideration.

Really appreciate the fit advice found on YLF!

Good news! The 2 short arrived and it is working for me! The short, as opposed to petite, has a larger waist and hip allowance, but a short inseam. The fabric does give after a few hours, which helps me. Now I realized though that I don't have any shoes to go with the pants... It is really interesting that WHBM can offer so many different cuts.

Yay, Scarlet! Way to persevere! Enjoy your outfit creating and shoe shopping. I wore mine with casual (matte) burgundy chelsea boots and a burgundy tunic to dress it down for a very casual Thanksgiving and plan to wear it with burgundy block heel pumps for the work holiday party and with black dressy booties for an evening party.

Toban, that sounds lovely. I was thinking how the pants would look so nice with burgundy boots. Pumps too, for dressing up, but I like boots for warmth. Awesome!
