A little Avant-Garde too.

For those who like this style sensibility, you'll probably love designer Tess Giberson's outfit. She just showed her collection at NYFW and came out wearing this look. Wanted to share.

I liked Peter Som and Tadashi Shoji's outfits. They showed yesterday and came out looking happy and fun.

I do like the layers in black. Not sure #3 will catch on in the Midwest Wish it would, though. We could use some color in all of the grey dreary days.

Wow, those subtle layers in nr.1 are gorgeous under the leather moto. Feeling it a good inspiration for some of our arty, avantgarde members. Also loved the red soks in nr 2 and think some of our handsome guys can pull off the look, easily(including Greg?:-)).

Too much black I think... needs something to pick it up... something silver or bright somewhere. I like the kind of "bat " effect of the sleeves.. adds drama. Love the texture mixing as well.... The second guy is a brave soul.

Love the all black outfit - for me personally, there's one too many layers but otherwise - love all black, love leather, love simpler layering.

Love Peter Som's outfit - those socks, what fun. I like the idea of Tess' outfit more than the execution. The pants to my novice eye are not skinny enough with all the volume and the jacket puts all the width on her hips. I would worn this with skinnier bottoms or leggings a softer draped asymmetric top with less tummy volume and a shorter jacket (but needless to say she's the designer and I know nothing - except, hum I like what I like!!: -) nice we all get to do our own thing!!)

Fantastic, I need/want that jacket, it's perfect. I wonder if I can purchase it here anywhere? The layers are wonderful and I'm looking forward to some cooler weather so I can layer up with trousers and dresses

I'm drawn to Peter Som's orange socks and his style! I guess it's because I love casual and now I want colored socks. Plus, I can add a black topper to my red pants and skinnies; thank you, Tadashi Shoji, for dressing this way.

I'm already thinking of two who would look outstanding in Tess Giberson's outfit.

Thanks for sharing. I love what the sheerness does to soften look 1 a bit and like the longer length jacket that retains a "moto" sensibility. I covet that for a change of pace.

I do like #1! The sheer bottom to the dress lightens up the heaviness a bit and makes it more feminine to my eye.

I love Tess' outfit. Gorgeous layers! Black! Different textures! Ticks my boxes;). Peter Som looks very cool.

I see what Gryffin sees and the less than skinny pants does prevent the outfit from looking as sleek as I would want it. The pants for me are what take the look into the more mainstream.

Black from head to toe is too much black for my own style too - but I like the way Tess put together her hard and soft layers. Gorgeous fit and proportions. And interestingly Gryffin and Debs, the roomier scrunched trousers are my favourite part of the outfit. They look more modern and on trend than sleek skinnies to my eye. Of course, if wearing sleek skinnies was your way of wearing the outfit - I fully support that too.

I love seeing what the designers wear at their show. The recipe is never the same. Some of the lady designers wear their own designs - like Lela Rose, Carolina Hererra and DVF. Others wear hard edge. Others wear a hectic avant-garde outfit. Some go classic in jeans, top and crazy shoes. And the men are usually fashion forward casual. Some wear crazy stuff, and some wear suits. And it's anyone's guess what Marc Jacobs will wear after his shows. All in good fun.

I like #1 a lot! I think it's the softness and sheerness of the skirt in contrast with everything else that drawing me here.

I love the layers and the pants in #1, but it's a little bit too much black for me. #2 is great, with the blue sweater and jeans and orange socks. I love blue and orange worn together.
