I was driving home from California yesterday and had NPR on the radio. A Ukrainian American reporter was talking about the things her two Ukrainian grandmothers had embroidered for her over the years. I’ve been searching for the link, but can’t find one. She said people now are adding stinger missiles and other weapons to their embroidery!

Stag, I believe the dog is Patron (Ammo in Ukrainian). He is a bomb sniffer, and recently was awarded a medal from the Ukrainian President for his work.

Helena, lovely pic! Slava Canadu, eh? I've been really interested to learn more about Ukrainian immigration to Canada, and the interactions between Ukrainian settlers and and First Nations on the prairies.

SF and JAileen, I am obsessed with Patron. Ob. Sessed!

JAileen I couldn't immediately find the link either but that is super interesting about embroidery patterns responding to current events!

Suz, I couldn’t believe Trudeau and Zelenskyy played it so cool at that ceremony. I’d have picked the pup up and snarfled him.
