Happy Passover! You all look beautiful, as does your table.
I host rarely, and prep was stressful, but I am getting better at it. This time I declared that I was going to shower and change, and assigned the early assemblers the last tasks. And I really used it to breathe and make a decision to let the prep stress go and start refreshed. And I came out in a dress looking nice.
We are not completely back to normal, and I am tired, but my parents and brother have left. But it was well worth it, and my parents loved having 2 of their 3 kids, 2 grandkids and a fiance, a niece and her husband, and a grand niece and nephew there.
We had 17, which required table additions and furniture moving. No place for everyone to sit except at the table.
I like the idea of doing it outside. It wasn't warm enough here, and I'm afraid we'd have a bug problem.
Besides the ceremonial items we had matzo ball soup, gefilte fish, chicken, matza kugel (similar to stuffing), broccoli, berries and matza crunch. Matza crunch is not what I grew up with; I think it is relatively new but favorite dessert. It's matzah with caramel and chocolate.
I don't remember whether Jaime said what matzah is. It looks like a large square cracker. Maybe 6" or 7" on each side. It is cooked quickly and is unleavened.
