Earlier this year I was reading a holiday themed historical romance (guilty pleasure) when I came across a reference to Atholl Brose being drunk by the scottish hero as he sat reading by the fire in his library. After researching the drink (which I’d never heard of) and finding recipes on the internet - I suggested to DH that we make it together for our Hogmanay. For enquiring minds, it’s oatmeal water, honey, scotch, and for those who wish to add it - cream.
